00:00With the help of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the agencies, he fought malnutrition.

00:07He ordered the provision of sufficient nutrition for the first 1,000 days of children.

00:13According to the study, 3 out of every 10 children ages 5 and below lack nutrition.

00:19The President ordered the National Nutrition Council to lead the programs for health from 2026.

00:27The budgets will be combined for proper nutrition.

00:31For now, there is a half-billion-peso fund for the first 1,000 days of children.

00:36Malnutrition areas like Pangasinan and Bangsamoro will also be targeted.

00:42The DSWD will also provide 3,000-peso food stamps every month to the poor families.

00:51The emphasis should be on the first 1,000 days, which involves a pregnant mother.

00:57The fetus is still inside the uterus.

01:01They'll be given micronutrients, mainly iron, folic acid, and then the tetanus and diphtheria vaccine.

01:11And then upon birth, there should be a mandatory initiation of breastfeeding.
