00:00With the help of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the agencies,

00:04he gave the fight against malnutrition.

00:07He ordered the provision of sufficient nutrition for the first 1,000 children.

00:13According to the study, 3 out of every 10 children under the age of 5 lack nutrition.

00:20The President ordered the National Nutrition Council to lead the programs for health.

00:26Starting in 2026, the agencies will combine the budgets for the right nutrition.

00:32Currently, there is a half-billion-peso fund for the first 1,000 days of children.

00:37The places where malnutrition is high will also be targeted,

00:40such as Pangasinan and Bangsamoro.

00:43The DSWD will also provide a 3,000-peso food stamp

00:48every month to the poor families.

00:51The emphasis should be on the first 1,000 days,

00:55which involves a pregnant mother,

00:58the fetus is inside the uterus,

01:01that they'll be given micronutrients,

01:04mainly iron, folic acid,

01:08and then the tetanus and diphtheria vaccine.

01:12And then, upon birth,

01:14there should be a mandatory initiation of breastfeeding.
