00:00Hey Vogue, I'm Dua Lipa and this is what's in my bag.
00:03Good to go? Okay.
00:10Car keys, very important.
00:12Especially when I'm home, I love to drive everywhere.
00:16I have my diary which the outside is all really cute
00:20but the inside is just like a notebook that's like falling apart
00:24and lots of Polaroids.
00:26From tour, my choreographer's assistant.
00:28This is me and my band as we were doing Tiny Desk.
00:32I feel like I'm on tour all the time but I love it.
00:35I have so much fun performing
00:37and I feel like a lot of the stuff that's in my bag
00:40I just collect throughout my travels.
00:43Like I have, oh, it's like a little good luck duck.
00:46Iron-on patches.
00:47Don's Depot in Austin.
00:48Stickers from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
00:50Matches.
00:51Hot sauce, very important.
00:53Always carry hot sauce with me
00:55because I feel like it makes every meal better.
00:59I have books.
01:01I carry like two in my handbag
01:03and then I have more in the suitcase
01:05especially if I'm gone for a long period of time.
01:08This one is Hernan Diaz, In the Distance.
01:11This was actually a gift from Hernan.
01:13He came to see my show
01:14and then I guess this just came out in a hard pack
01:16so he gave me this one
01:17which I'm really looking forward to reading.
01:19Selvarmada, Not a River.
01:21This has been in my reading pile for a little while
01:23and I'm really looking forward to getting into this.
01:25It's a Latin American author, an Argentinian author actually.
01:29This publisher, Charco Press,
01:32they translate a lot of Latin American authors,
01:35contemporary Latin American authors
01:37and so I'm always really interested in what they've got
01:39and this is one that I'm looking forward to reading.
01:42I get a lot of recommendations.
01:44My friends send me books.
01:45I do the book club, one, because I just love reading books.
01:50I wanted to share the experience with lots of people.
01:54I started my company called Service 95
01:56which I've thought of as an online cultural concierge
02:01where we have lots of different stories from around the world.
02:03There's no kind of method to the book club.
02:06It's just books that I've read, that I love,
02:08that I choose for the month
02:10and we just see if the authors want to join us for a conversation.
02:14What else?
02:15I've got my laptop
02:18which has some stickers on it.
02:22My Spanish book.
02:24When I'm away, I like to learn languages.
02:26I have a teacher who I speak to on Zoom
02:30and so my laptop and my GCSE higher Spanish is with me.
02:37Notebooks for French and Spanish.
02:42I think I'm going to stick to French and Spanish
02:45and try and get good at those first
02:46and then if I can do it, then maybe Italian as well.
02:50But I speak Albanian fluently.
02:57Okay, some life essentials for when I'm traveling
03:00which are really important.
03:01My eye mask, band-aids, throat pastels.
03:05Oh, electrolytes.
03:07I love these ones.
03:08I take them every day.
03:10Oh, these $2 actually.
03:12These are like good luck.
03:13There's a guy called $2 Steve that comes to every good show
03:18and he's like in the backstage
03:20and he just gives out these $2.
03:23And actually, I'm supposed to pass it on
03:25so you should have one.
03:27There you go.
03:29Under-eye patches.
03:30Augusta and Espada.
03:31I can't live without them.
03:33This is super important, especially with all my travels.
03:35When I'm on a plane, I pop these on
03:37and I'm like, okay, maybe I'll wake up looking a little bit more refreshed.
03:42I've got Manuka Honey Drops.
03:45Just throat stuff that'll make me feel good on a flight.
03:48My face cream.
03:50Headphones.
03:51Multiple headphones.
03:53I have so many headphones because I probably,
03:55I pick one pair up and I put them in my bag
03:57and then I take another pair and I put them in my bag
03:59and then it's quite handy actually
04:01because when I need to make phone calls, they're quite tangled.
04:04But if one's tangled, then I have another pair that's less tangled.
04:08It's handy to me.
04:09I like wired headphones because I don't have to charge them.
04:11It's just one less thing to charge.
04:13I feel like there's just cables everywhere
04:16and there's cables everywhere but in a different way.
04:20My wallet.
04:21Nothing to say about that.
04:23Sunglasses, sunglasses.
04:24I think this is probably like the headphone situation.
04:26It's like take one pair off and then leave the house
04:28and then put another pair on and I forget so I accumulate.
04:31This is actually probably the least amount of sunglasses
04:33I've had at one time in my bag.
04:35But they're different.
04:36Different for different outfits
04:37and also if my mood changes throughout the day
04:39and I go actually I want to like spice it up with a different sunny.
04:42I've got that.
04:43My passport.
04:46Always with me because you never know.
04:49Oh, favorite place I've been recently.
04:51Austin, Texas.
04:52I went for the first time in 2016.
04:54I did South by Southwest and I hadn't been back since then
04:58and so it was just, it's amazing.
05:00I love how vibrant the city is.
05:02It feels so alive.
05:03The people are really nice.
05:04The food's really good.
05:05I loved going dancing at the Honky Tonks.
05:09All of it.
05:10Really, really fun.
05:11This is Minnie.
05:12She has a name.
05:13I use this for everything.
05:15It's a little janky but it's great.
05:17It takes really good pictures.
05:18This is like the perfect party companion.
05:20Oh yeah, this important SD card straight to my phone
05:25so I can get the pictures immediately
05:27because although I've got patients written on my hand,
05:29not that patient.
05:31I like things done really fast.
05:33Yuzu matcha.
05:34I like to have a lot of condiments, electrolytes, sweets.
05:39Matcha that I got in Japan that I love.
05:44You never know when you're gonna need a little boost of energy.
05:47It's getting quite busy here.
05:50For Akaki, this is herbs and nori and stuff
05:54but again, if there's only rice, you can make it really fun.
05:59This, chili flakes.
06:01Also very important.
06:05Tarot cards.
06:06I love to pull out a card every day.
06:10Sometimes if I feel like I want to make a decision,
06:12I'll pull one out and see what it tells me.
06:15I'll pull one out now.
06:18See what should be something insanely terrible.
06:23Not sure what kind of energy I just put into it.
06:26It says the flute.
06:27Connection to spirit, understanding and education,
06:29ritual and celebration.
06:30Life is magical.
06:34We'll leave it at that, let's not do more.
06:36Put those there.
06:38Compression socks.
06:40Flying, there's always something at the bottom of my bag.
06:44It's good to have.
06:45What else do I have in here?
06:48Trill mix.
06:49Just a lot of snacks, it seems.
06:52Glass protector.
06:53It's for the phone but it's also got like,
06:55a privacy screen on it as well.
06:57So it's like, make sure that I'm not gonna smash my phone
07:01but also just feel safe.
07:04My phone.
07:04I'm gonna leave this there.
07:07My love shine, I love this.
07:09I actually needed some of that.
07:10God, there's so much random stuff.
07:12Pens, hair bands.
07:14More vocal jellies for my throat.
07:19Singing straws.
07:20But I can tell you as I've never used them before,
07:23but they're in my bag in case I need them.
07:27But you're basically supposed to like,
07:29blow into it and try and hit,
07:30this is how you like, warm up your vocals.
07:33I much prefer going up scales and warming up like that
07:37but these are supposed to be quite good.
07:38So if anyone wants to try them, you're welcome.
07:41And these are my charms that I've collected.
07:44These I've collected in temples in Japan and in India.
07:49In temples in Japan and in India.
07:53And this was a gift from my friend Ray on my birthday.
07:56What does my bag say about my life?
07:58Very deep.
08:00Chaotic.
08:01That's fun.
08:01And there's a lot of flavor.
08:02I know that no matter what, I'm covered.
08:10Thanks for watching.
08:11That was what was in my bag.
