00:00A minor eruption was recorded in Taal Volcano earlier this morning.

00:04On the other hand, according to PHIVOX, the volcano is still at alert level 1.

00:09Joshua Garcia of PTV is back with the national news.

00:16A minor eruption was recorded at 5 a.m. earlier this morning in Taal Volcano.

00:21According to Dr. Teresito Bacolcol, Director of PHIVOX,

00:24the eruption of the volcano lasted for 4 minutes.

00:27Even now, the volcano is still at alert level 1.

00:31The height of the volcano reached 2,800 meters.

00:34So far, we have received reports of a minor eruption.

00:40According to the official,

00:41a minor eruption was reported in Barangay Busubuso in the town of Laurel.

00:45Residents immediately returned to their homes.

00:48The next thing that happened was a phreatic eruption.

00:50According to our reports, Laurel is the only place with a minor eruption.

00:56Residents do not need to evacuate.

01:00Just do not enter Taal Volcano Island

01:03because the whole island is a permanent danger zone.

01:06Despite the abnormal state of the volcano,

01:09there is still no possibility of a major eruption.

01:12But according to PHIVOX, they are being monitored.

01:16We cannot say.

01:18For now, there are only two parameters that we are monitoring.

01:23We are monitoring other parameters so we can say if this will lead to a major eruption.

01:29For the past 24 hours, we have only recorded two volcanic earthquakes in Taal Volcano.

01:35This is a very important parameter because if the volcano is increasing,

01:40it means there is a magma rising.

01:42And if this happens, there can be a major eruption.

01:47Residents near Taal Volcano Island are being instructed to wear a face mask

01:51to avoid the spread of ash from the volcano and to avoid any illness.

01:55Meanwhile, Modular Distance Learning implemented the 17th public instruction

02:01following the recent minor eruption.

02:03PHIVOX called for a constant alert

02:06and to follow the warnings and recommendations of the authorities.
