00:36The iNation Global Summit 2024 is more than just a conference. It is a manifestation

00:44of our shared aspirations for a future built on innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity

00:51for local, regional, and global societies. By convening experts, leaders, and missionaries,

01:07solutions to address global challenges while uplifting our communities. Ladies and gentlemen,

01:15as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation,

01:20I'm committed to steering Malaysia towards a sustainable and resilient future. This journey

01:26encompasses both our nature landscape and the management of our water resources.

01:33A cornerstone for our strategy in the Water Sector Transformation 2040, or WST2040,

01:40which addresses challenges such as water scarcity and climate vulnerability. By integrating

01:48innovative concepts like virtual water accounting and water footprint analysis,

01:54WST2040 seeks to optimize water resources management across sectors, ensuring sustainable

02:03and equitable access for all. Technology plays a pivotal role in this transformation. For instance,

02:10IoT enables smart water meters monitor usage in real time, reducing wastage and improving

02:18efficiency. Similarly, AI-driven predictive analytics optimize energy grids in anticipate

02:28demand and minimize carbon footprints. The private sector is also vital in achieving national

02:35sustainability goals. Investments in renewable energy and the adoption of environmental,

02:42social, and governance, or ESG principles, underscores the importance of public-private

02:48collaboration in driving impactful change. Ladies and gentlemen, this summit comes

02:56at a pivotal moment in Malaysia's journey toward becoming a leading technology hub.

03:02One area where we are seeing rapid progress is renewable energy, with Malaysia on track to

03:09increase its renewable energy capacity to 31% of the national energy mix by 2025. This shift

03:18not only supports our national sustainability goals, but also positions us as a key leader,

03:25a key player in the region's green transition, a critical focus as we prepare

03:31to assume the role of Chair of ASEAN in 2025. Holding the ASEAN Chairmanship is both an honour

03:40and a responsibility, reflecting our dedication to driving progress across security,

03:46economic growth, and social cultural development. Guided by the theme,

03:51inclusivity and sustainability, we are committed to ensuring that all ASEAN nations

03:59benefit from shared prosperity and technological advancement.

04:04Going to trend six, a logarithm are new decision-makers. It is the compilation

04:12of what customers are generating are what makes decisions, not the CEO or top managers.

04:20AI can analyse the most nuanced and intricate patterns in human behaviours or other processes

04:27and phenomena by classifying and clustering, although it may not tell us the reasons and

04:35detailed reasons behind it. Now the challenge is there is an urgent need to cultivate essential

04:42skills for effective collaboration with AI, including a deep understanding of AI tools,

04:49capabilities and limitations, and thus allowing future professionals in many fields to discern

04:55when to rely on AI-generated insights and when to apply a professional judgment.
