The Selangor government has opened two temporary relief centres to accommodate some 311 flood victims affected by the flood. The number is on the rise as parts of the state experiences continuous downpour.

00:00The Selangor government has opened two temporary relief centres
00:04to accommodate some 311 flood victims affected by the flood.
00:08They are located at the SK Binjai School and Bukit Kapar Community Centre.
00:14Continuous rains in Meru and Kapar on Thursday night resulted in massive floods in the areas,
00:19with floodwaters overflowing drains and inundating homes on Friday.
00:24Several areas in Sepang were also not spared.
00:27The roads leading to Kota Warisan, Bandar Salak Tinggi and Kuala Lumpur International Airport
00:33were cut off by floodwaters in the morning.
00:36Selangor Exkodatuk Ang Swe Lim said,
00:38leave for more than 500 members of the fast-response teams of 12 local authorities
00:44had been frozen until January next year to face the rainy season.
00:48He said the northeast monsoon had hit the east coast states,
00:53and even though the flood situation in Selangor was not so bad,
00:57flash floods were happening in the state.
00:59In Melaka, 66 flood victims from Alor Gajah, Jasin and Melaka Tengah
01:05had been relocated to relief centres.
01:08Video of a motorcyclist who was stranded in Kampung Sungai Siput in Lubok, China,
01:14being rescued by firefighters, went viral on social media.
01:18The number of flood victims in Kedah also rose drastically to 5,619,
01:29with districts like Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Kota Setar and Pokok Sena all affected.
01:35The total number of evacuees nationwide jumped to 94,778 as of 4pm.
01:44Kelantan remained the worst-hit state with 63,761 flood victims,
01:50followed by Trengganu with 22,511 evacuees.
