Town's theatre turns 50

Volunteer Maggie Hoiles talks about The Oast Theatre in Tonbridge which is celebrating a landmark year

00:00I hope that it continues to develop, that we get more young people in, that we get

00:07more volunteers coming in because we desperately need it to keep going

00:12because a lot of people here are elderly. Nobody feels it mind you but they are

00:20and you know they need a younger group coming up behind. People may be

00:28newly retired. That's what we would like to get hold of who want to fill their

00:32time you know because there's so many opportunities here for them and they can

00:36learn new skills. We can train them with lighting, sound, everything and some

00:42people have given so much of their life to this place so I would like that to

00:50continue. I'd like it to develop but I hope the nurse never loses the wonderful

00:57feeling it has of friendliness and support.
