00:13that provide the biggest challenges to unlock.

00:31Classic Spartan Armor Set

00:41After Sony released free DLC, we all flocked to Valhalla to see what was in store.

00:46With its roguelike structure and story that called back to Kratos' Greek days, it was

00:51a tough but satisfying playthrough.

00:54Since you're stripped of most resources before going in and unlockable armor is only

00:59cosmetic, making it to the end can be a bit challenging, especially since you have to

01:03do it four times to actually complete it.

01:14After vanquishing Tyr for the fourth time, who's no slouch in the combat department

01:18by the way, you'll unlock Kratos' classic Spartan look for a New Game Plus playthrough.

01:24It also boosts his strength, defense, and vitality stats, so it's definitely worth

01:29earning.

01:35Surtr's Scorched Armor Set

01:43Muspelheim, a realm solely meant to test your combat skills through waves of enemies, returns

01:49in Ragnarok, where it has in no way been made any easier.

01:54To get Surtr's Scorched Armor Set, you first have to beat the six Crucible Challenges to

01:58unlock the Final Challenges, which are naturally a lot harder than the others.

02:09You'll get the Cuirass for completing your first challenge in this set, the Bracers after

02:14completing the third, and the Girdle after completing the fourth.

02:18They're all hard, so choosing which ones sound most manageable to you is key.

02:24It's undeniably one of the strongest sets in the game.

02:27The Cuirass lets Kratos deal more damage when interrupting attacks, while the other pieces

02:32decrease damage and stagger he takes while attacking.

02:43Dragon Scaled Armor Set

02:52This badass looking armor set grants Kratos a couple of neat perks, so long as you're

02:56good about blocking and parrying.

02:59The Bracers and Girdle both increase your shield's damage while also dealing shield

03:03damage to enemies you block or parry.

03:05The Breastplate grants a buff to your strength and defense stats with each block and parry,

03:11offsetting the stack when you take damage.

03:14Of course, something this good can only be earned late game, specifically after you reach

03:18the enormous side area in Vanaheim, the Crater.

03:22That's because the parts you need to craft the armor are only dropped by dragons, drakes,

03:27and drekis.

03:28Pretty tough encounters.

03:36You only need to slay a couple beasts to earn the necessary parts, but if you want to upgrade

03:41it, you'll have to do a lot more hunting.

03:54Hilt of Forcebrander

03:59Odin has 48 of his raven spies hidden around the realms.

04:04While you'll come across many of them naturally and will want to kill them for the XP, you're

04:09bound to miss at least a few unless you check in every nook and cranny, or feel like backtracking

04:15to check those completion boxes.

04:17If you do get all of them and head to Niflheim, you'll find a secret boss waiting for you,

04:22the Raven Keeper.

04:33Similar to a revenant on steroids, she likes to teleport around the arena, hurling projectiles,

04:40and summoning minions.

04:41In fact, at a quarter health, she'll summon a dragon known as the Pale One.

04:45Your reward for tracking all ravens down and defeating their keeper is the Hilt of Forcebrander,

04:51a handy item that pushes enemies back and gives Kratos an aura of protection.

05:02Hunter's Armor Set

05:09Like the dragon scaled set, this armor can also only be gained after reaching the crater.

05:14You have to complete three specific quests in order to get Hunter's Brands, the resources

05:19required to craft it.

05:21The first quest is in plain sight, having Kratos face a soul eater.

05:25The second is Nocturnal Predator, having him contend with the Flame Phantom.

05:30The third is not part of a named quest, instead dealing with the Untamed Fury, a centaur huntress

05:36who ambushes you at different spots and retreats after you deal enough damage.

05:41That last enemy is the bigger pain of the three, since you must face her five times,

05:46with the last one having you find her lair in the jungle.

05:55The armor's gauntlets and belt increase the damage of Kratos' ranged attacks, and

06:00the pauldron does the same while aiming.

06:09Berserker Armor Set

06:19This set is for high risk, high reward type players.

06:23When using a relic, the cuirass briefly increases the damage of enemy attacks, but gives a big

06:28boost to Kratos' melee attacks.

06:31The gauntlets grant a low luck chance for soul explosion on each hit, which causes damage

06:36and recharges his relic.

06:38Finally, the waist guard grants a moderate luck chance for soul explosion when Kratos'

06:42hit blocks or parries.

06:51To find these pieces, though, you'll have to defeat three berserker fights, some of

06:55the hardest in the game.

06:57The gauntlets are gained after beating Skutindi the Unairing in Niflheim, the waist guard

07:02is earned after beating Frankie the Zealous on the Lake of Nine, and the cuirass is earned

07:06after beating Sviptikar the Cold in Alfheim, who brings two friends with him.

07:11And yes, I probably did mispronounce all of those names.

07:21Steinbjorn Armor Set This armor set is particularly good for making

07:33a comeback when surrounded by enemies.

07:35While equipped and after taking some damage, the waist guard and gauntlets give Kratos

07:39a moderate luck chance to stagger and stun enemies, and the chest piece lets him steal

07:44their health.

07:45That's on top of a really great defense stat.

07:48You can find it any time after completing Chapter 10.

07:51By returning to the Lake of Nine, you'll find the Mystical Heirloom to the southwest

07:55of Tyr's Temple.

07:57Using this at certain places in the game triggers a troll fight, one at the derelict outpost

08:02in Midgard, one at the Forbidden Sands in Alfheim, and a duo of trolls at Noatun's

08:07Garden in Vanaheim, understandably the toughest.

08:16Rond of Obliteration Ragnarok gives players another ultra-tough

08:27Valkyrie Queen to face in G'nah, Sigrun's successor.

08:31She's fought at the end of the post-game quest that sees Kratos and Freya disposing

08:35of Odin's remaining forces.

08:37And she is a beast, to put it lightly.

08:47Upon beating her, you'll earn the Rond of Obliteration, a shield attachment that boosts

08:51all stats and charges a group of projectiles after blocking for a few moments.

08:56It's tough to get, but certainly more so in Valhalla.

09:00Here you get it after beating Tyr's final fight on the hardest difficulty, Show Me Mastery,

09:05while being afflicted with the Penalty of Breaching, which drains Kratos' health as

09:09you play until he's a breath away from death.

09:23Zeus Armor Set Although it was a bit harder to unlock in

09:33the 2018 game, gaining the Armor of Zeus is still no small feat in Ragnarok.

09:39It can only be found in a New Game Plus playthrough during the post-story quests, meaning you

09:44basically have to beat the entirety of the game twice before you can even use it.

09:48The War Belt is earned after clearing Odin's forces in Vanaheim by Freya's camp, the

09:53Gauntlets are earned after clearing them out of Alfheim Desert, and the Cuirass is earned

09:58after defeating G'nah.

10:00If you feel like playing for a third time, each piece has the same stackable perk, Divine

10:05Edge.

10:06This increases the power of Kratos' melee and runic attacks by 40%, but increases all

10:11incoming damage by 100%.

10:23Hilt of Skofnung You'll get this hilt upon starting the Fit

10:32for a King side quest, but it'll be useless.

10:36In order to use it, you'll have to track down all 12 Berserker fights, which, as I

10:41mentioned before, are incredibly difficult.

10:44The final one, King Krolf Kraki, swaps between weapons and abilities of other Berserkers

10:49at random, making him a hard opponent to read.

11:02Despite a long cooldown, the Hilt is incredible, summoning a group of ghostly blades to tear

11:07through enemy encounters.

11:09This is another item made more difficult to earn in Valhalla.

11:13After unlocking the third arena in the Greek area, the Forum, Kratos will be met by one

11:18of the Berserkers.

11:19You need to visit the Forum three times in a row, and then face the King with whatever

11:24build you've managed to concoct.

11:26After defeating him, you'll be granted the Hilt, as well as cosmetic-only Berserker armor,

11:32for future runs.
