01:05And we're always there to communicate with each other and be mature about it with the

01:09children, who are not even children anymore.

01:11But Sharmila ji, when there was the separation going, I remember it very clearly.

01:15But also with the separation, I'd just like to say the first person I spoke to before

01:20the separation was my mother, who took a deep breath and there was another pause on the

01:24phone and said, I'm with you if that's what you want.

01:28And that helped a lot.

01:30Yes.

01:31And I'm so happy because, you know, when you're together for such a long time and you have

01:35two lovely children, then no breakup is easy.

01:41And then if it's not harmonious, I mean, I know it's difficult to have harmony at that

01:46stage, everybody is hurt.

01:48So that stage was not nice.

01:51But I tried, yes.

01:54I was, but that's water under the bridge.

01:57But, you know, she needed time to cool down.

01:59Of course.

02:00And, you know, they worked it out together.

02:02Yes.

02:03It's not just staying away, there are so many other things involved.

02:08It wasn't a happy time for us because Ibrahim was just three and we were very, very fond

02:13of the children and especially Tiger was really fond of Ibrahim.

02:17And he would say, well, that's a good lad, you know.

02:20And he didn't get that time.

02:22Yes.

02:23So we felt doubly deprived, you know, to lose Amrita and lose the two kids.

02:29And so it's just not him.

02:31We also had to adjust to all that.

02:34But did you feel like the second time around when Kareena is also a movie star, that you

02:38had invested so many emotions in his first wife, how it is to readjust and to recalibrate

02:44with a new person completely?

02:45Well, there was a little gap between.

02:47And Kareena, I had known earlier, known earlier meaning I'd met her and she's always been

02:51very, very nice to me.

02:53She's just lovely.

02:54She is what she is, you know.

02:56She was with us when Tiger was ill.

02:58She was with us when Tiger passed away.

03:01Yeah.

03:02You know.

03:03And you got married subsequently, right after that.

03:06Yes.

03:07Yes.

03:08But somehow, I mean, just as a separate, you know, not to compare or anything like that,

03:12Because I must say what Kareena said.

03:14So, you know, I had friends over, lots of people from Delhi.

03:21And these two came and, you know, sitting there.

03:25And I casually said that what's happening and all that.

03:28I said, but you know, when Saif woke up in the morning, he told me this, giving the impression

03:33that they're living together.

03:35Okay.

03:36And this is Delhi and they're my friends of that age.

03:38Yes.

03:39You know, I was just thinking how the world has changed.

03:42I mean, when I was living with Tiger, when I was not married, I would not have said to

03:47a room full of people that I'm living with him.

03:50Yeah.

03:51It would have been a deep, dark secret.

03:52Yes.

03:53I mean, maybe everybody would have known.

03:54Yeah.

03:55But I would have...

03:56You wouldn't have said it.

03:57And she said it so naturally.

03:59And so I sort of...
