00:10A brand that makes its products in India.

00:13In 2023, Boat became the first Indian brand in its segment

00:18to manufacture over 1 crore products in the country

00:21in just one year.

00:22Until a few years ago,

00:24Boat produced the majority of its products abroad.

00:28Customers have often voiced these concerns to the homegrown brand.

00:32But the brand was already working towards a change.

00:36In 2020, Boat started a joint venture with Dixon Technologies,

00:41a homegrown electronics manufacturing company.

00:44This was done to boost manufacturing of its wearable products in India.

00:49This move aligned with the government's Make in India initiative,

00:53which was introduced in 2014

00:55to boost employment and entrepreneurship in the country.

00:58By August 2022, Boat set a record of producing 1 million units of devices in India

01:05within a span of just 3 months.

01:07This milestone won a lot of praise from consumers on social media as well.

01:12By manufacturing within the country,

01:14the brand says it has more control over the quality of their products.

01:18With all this, Boat wants to capitalize on India's Atman Nirbhar mission

01:23and make it a reality.
