00:00We continue to recap and review the week 12 Sunday slate all

00:06around the National Football League live right here on a

00:09Monday morning on Sports Script. DRS, there is no doubt

00:12Kansas City has the best record in the AFC at ten and one but

00:17you can poke a couple of holes in how KC has skated by to get

00:22those ten victories. In fact, the Chiefs making history

00:25yesterday but maybe not in the best component ever. Kansas

00:30City becoming the first team in NFL history to win eight of

00:33their first eleven games by seven points or fewer in all of

00:39those eight victories. They've got ten. They've won a couple

00:42by double digits but eight of the first eleven by a single

00:46possession or fewer. DRS again in NFL record. In Kansas City

00:52yesterday expected a bounce back from the opening loss of

00:55the season in Buffalo. In Hammer, a Carolina team that

00:59sure had won two consecutive games but would be nowhere

01:02close to even keeping this competitive. So, maybe if KC

01:05didn't cover as a ten and a half point road favorite in

01:08Charlotte, they'd at least win comfortably by seven, eight,

01:11nine, ten. No, a walk-off field goal to end the game from now

01:16their reserve kicker in Spencer Trader. The Panthers have now

01:20covered in three straight for a team that did not win and did

01:24not even cover booked as an underdog. So, good news for

01:28Carolina but the Chiefs just one and five against the spread

01:32as a five and a half point favorite or greater this year.

01:36They are squeaking by and against the best in the NFL DRS.

01:40Despite the pedigree, the Chiefs have built up and rightfully

01:44so, it is a slight cause for concern. It is a cause for

01:48concern because nobody's afraid of the Chiefs. You know, in the

01:50past when they had Tyreek Hill, it's like, my goodness,

01:52Patrick Holmes, what are we gonna do? Certainly don't wanna

01:54play them. I'm not saying people wanna play the Chiefs

01:56cuz the Chiefs ten and one record says a lot there. They

01:59know how to win football games but they're not as decisive as

02:02they were in the past and yes, if you're playing down to your

02:04competition, eventually, it's gonna snipe you. Should've lost

02:07actually to the Denver Broncos. They get the block field

02:09goal there. They did lose to the Buffalo Bills and they I

02:12can't even say they almost lost to the Carolina Panthers

02:14cuz I don't know if they were really in danger of losing that

02:16game cuz they never got behind and they still had the lead and

02:19they easily went down the field when it mattered most to get

02:21that game clinching field goal but this is one of the things

02:24where it lines up where they better get home field advantage

02:26again. Now, when I say that, it's like, okay, anybody with

02:29home field advantage in the playoffs, it's certainly an

02:31advantage to you specifically at Arrowhead. Very hard to beat

02:34the Chiefs there but I would be an idiot to say like, oh, well,

02:37if the Chiefs will get home field advantage, they can't win

02:39anything. Did you watch what they did last year with a

02:41similar structured team and went to the Super Bowl and won

02:44it. Maybe the best three-game run I've ever seen from any

02:47playoff team beating the Bills on the road, the Ravens on the

02:50road, and then the talented 49ers in the Super Bowl. So,

02:53who am I to say the Chiefs absolutely can't go on the road

02:56and win and who's gonna doubt Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes

02:59as long as you have them. I'm just saying I'm not coming into

03:01games like, ooh, I don't know if I can bet against the Chiefs

03:04this week. No, when they're laying a touchdown or more, you

03:06always bet against the Chiefs and you can feel comfortable

03:09even in the pit, the Lonely Panthers. I said, what are you

03:11kidding me? 10 and a half, 11 and a half points. No way and

03:14it looked like they were actually on the way to a cover

03:16but the Chiefs do what they always do. Take their foot off

03:19the gas, relax, give up some points but if they need to

03:22score points to go ahead or clinch the game, they always do

03:25that here. Case in point 30 to 27 yesterday.
