00:06I mean, she's the realization of an American dream.

00:17I'm sure she's a great mother and a very gifted person.

00:24I'm the first time I've ever voted against any Supreme Court nominee.

00:27Indeed, she has a very impressive resume.

00:30She has worked hard to build that.

00:33I am certainly going to vote no for Judge Jackson.

00:44She has a vast practical experience, something I think is a real plus,

00:49having served as a public defender, a federal district judge, and a circuit court judge,

00:53and not just an academician.

00:55I have concerns that Judge Jackson will be pinch-hitting for one team or the other.

01:08I enjoyed the opportunity to meet with Judge Jackson in person several weeks ago.

01:16I wish her well, but I cannot support her nomination.

01:19I got an opportunity during one of the breaks to go up to her parents,

01:23and I told them that they clearly raised her right.

01:26I mean, she's the realization of an American dream.

01:29I will not be supporting her nomination, but I do wish her and her family well.

01:34Judge Jackson, of course, was very personable and engaging.

01:38I enjoyed the opportunity to meet her family before the hearing started.

01:44We obviously are, they obviously are, and should be proud of her achievements.

01:49Unfortunately, I think she and I have fundamental different views on the role of judges.

01:55Because of those disagreements, I can't support her nomination.
