This week, two emperor tamarin monkeys at the Dallas Zoo disappeared, but that was just

the latest in a series of suspicious events at the zoo.

The monkeys were reported missing on Monday, January 30, and according to a zoo spokesperson,

it was clear the monkeys' habitat had been intentionally compromised.

Officials ultimately found the pair in a closet of an empty home 15 miles away from the zoo

after receiving a tip.

Earlier this month, a clouded leopard briefly escaped its enclosure, part of which had been

cut open.

And a similar cut was found on the Langer monkey exhibit, though none of those animals

got out.

And after that, a vulture was found dead with an unusual wound, which zoo officials said

was very suspicious.

It's unclear if the events are related, but police are investigating all four incidents.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Zoo has hired more overnight security guards, installed additional security

cameras, and reduced the amount of time certain animals can spend outside.
