00:08So one of the biggest producers in the Asian hot sauce market released a statement

00:13confirming an unprecedented shortage in their products. Chili peppers, a must-have ingredient in the sauce,

00:20have been in short supply since the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

00:24But even more recently, bad weather conditions have negatively impacted the quality of the peppers.

00:29Which has made the horrible situation even worse.

00:32And of course, Russia's invasion of Ukraine also takes some of the blame, just as it has for other food shortages.

00:38The company said that it doesn't currently have the inventory to meet new demands and is even delaying

00:44fulfillments on previously accepted orders. This sriracha shortage is expected to last through at least Labor Day.
