00:00If you're searching for abortion services, Google could end up directing you to an anti-abortion clinic.

00:05Researchers who searched for abortion clinic near me or abortion pill in the 13 so-called trigger law states

00:11found that 37% of the results on Google Maps led to fake clinics.

00:17These clinics' websites can mimic abortion health care centers,

00:20but the clinics are often religious and do not offer abortions.

00:25The United States has more than 2,500 of these CPCs, or Crisis Pregnancy Centers,

00:31and approximately 800 abortion clinics.

00:33At least 14 states have made abortion extremely restrictive or illegal since Roe v. Wade was overturned.

00:39Google put out a statement that said,

00:41any organization that wants to advertise to people seeking information about abortion services on Google

00:46must be certified and show in-ad disclosures that clearly state whether they do or do not offer abortions.
