00:10Now, the peace and beauty of Basilan is slowly returning.

00:15For so many years, we have missed the beauty of Basilan.

00:19But not everything is over yet.

00:21Let's help them to get back on their feet.

00:23We are now entering the place of the Samal Bajau.

00:29They are the tribe that lives by the sea.

00:49But they are not the only ones living by the sea.

00:52Underneath, the Blue Spotted Stingray is hiding in the sand.

01:00The Stingray has used its mouth to swallow the sand.

01:06Its eyes are wide open while it is alertly watching its surroundings.

01:12On the other side of the sea, there are the children of Pating.

01:16They are like a battalion when they smell.

01:19There is nothing to be left behind.

01:23The strength of the Pating and Stingray is only strong when they are under the sea.

01:32Because it is time for them to leave their territory.

01:37They are sure to lose.

01:49Because up there, they can only be found in the market.

03:04we bring them to the office.

03:07One by one, Pating and other sea creatures were caught.

03:11This is a 4-liter shark.

03:13They caught almost 30 sharks here

03:17along with the other Blue Spotted Marble Ray.

03:21Their companion, Wedgefish, was also killed.

03:25I usually see this in ocean parks and in fish museums.

03:32I've been diving for a long time,

03:34but I've never seen it under the sea.

03:37I've only seen it here in Mindanao.

03:41You can see a lot of them.

03:49I've seen species that are protected in the Philippines

03:54because they are considered critically endangered.

03:58This is a White Spotted Wedgefish.

04:01Its fins are considered as one of the most expensive shark fin trade in China.

04:09This is also a protected species.

04:11But not everyone knows about this.

04:14Now, you know why we catch them because it is prohibited.

04:19Now, I know that it is prohibited.

04:24Anyone who catches and catches endangered species of White Spotted Wedgefish

04:30can be fined from Php 500,000 to Php 5 million

04:35and can go to jail for up to 20 years.
