The Mayor of West Yorkshire has confirmed that £2 bus fares in the region will continue into the new year, following the announcement of new government investment in buses.

00:05the new year following the announcement of new government investment in buses.
00:09The West Yorkshire Combined Authority will receive £36.1 million to go towards its bus
00:15service improvement plan for the coming year. The cap on single bus fares in Leeds and West
00:20Yorkshire will remain at £2, and MCARD Daysaver tickets will stay at £5 until the end of March 2025.
00:28The Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracey Brabin, said the Combined Authority is committed to
00:32keeping bus fares as low and affordable as possible, while investing in protecting the
00:37bus network across the region, adding that in order to deliver on the growth mission,
00:41we must have a better connected region. A full Combined Authority meeting with
00:46West Yorkshire leaders will take place on the 29th of November, where bus fares for beyond 2025 are
00:52expected to be set. Proposals will be set out in the coming days for a new fare cap in West
00:57Yorkshire from March.
