Hi everyone, I'm Catherine from Sussex World. I've got some lovely Christmas treats in front of me.

I'm lucky enough to have been sent them from the wonderful team at Carluccio's,

who've got their Christmas 2024 range out now available to order online.

And I'm going to review a couple of the things they've sent me.

And we're lucky enough in Sussex as well to have a Carluccio's restaurant in Chichester,

which I know takes bookings now for Christmas and has a special festive menu.

So we're doubly lucky.

But what I'm going to taste today is a panettone.

I hope I've got the pronunciation just about right there.

Al cioccolato, which I guess is a chocolate panettone if you want to say it in an English accent.

I've taken the liberty of unwrapping some of the packaging because it came so beautifully wrapped,

but I thought it might take me 20 minutes just to open it on camera.

So inside it came with a lovely gold bow on and it was all wrapped in plastic and everything.

But the first thing that hit me when I took it out of the bag was, oh, my God, the smell.

It's delicious. It smells really fruity.

But when you get close, there's a real kind of hint of chocolate and everything.

And more than anything else, it's massive.

It would easily feed loads of people, I'd imagine.

And it would look really special on any table at Christmas time.

It just looks delicious and I can't wait to tuck in and try a little bit.

So let me just clear a couple of these things out of the way.

So we've got a little bit of space and I'm going to cut myself a slice.

It's really hard to know where to start.

I don't want to cut into it because it's too beautiful.

I'm not sure how best you would serve this and I don't know.

You could probably serve it on its own or maybe it would be lovely with some cream or some ice cream.

Forgive me. I'm not sure how the traditional Italian way to serve it is.

Here we go. I've cut myself a little slice.

I say little. It actually looks quite big, really, doesn't it?

But it looks delicious and you can see right through it.

It's got so much filling distributed right the way through.

So that's really yummy. So let's just give it a go.

That's wonderful. It's so chocolatey.

I'm a big chocoholic, so it was always going to work for me.

But it has kind of got a fruity undertone as well.

It's really moorish.

I know it's obviously a traditional kind of Christmas pudding, but this would work for me any day of the year.

Just like a little slice of this with my morning coffee would be lovely.

And I wasn't sure what panettone was exactly, but it's part bread, part cake, according to the packaging,

which makes perfect sense because it's got kind of a bread like structure as well.

And this one, it says this chocolate panettone is a buttery and airy sponge,

generously enriched with pieces of milk and dark chocolate, finished with a delicate layer of hazelnut icing.

Exactly that. It looks absolutely delicious and it tastes good too.

And if you don't fancy a big one or you just want to get someone like a little treat,

they've got this teeny weeny one, the piccolo version, which is really cute because it's got a little hook.

You could even hang it on a tree or just buy it as a little present for a friend or family.

So they can have their own little individual one they don't have to share.

And then in this amazing packaging here, you've got the Pandoro Classico,

which is star shaped light and buttery sponge cake from Veneto with icing sugar to serve.

And I looked at the pictures on the website of this one and I know that it's huge.

Kind of comes topped like this, which looks absolutely delicious.

And then the other thing I'm going to try today is the Bucci Al Rum,

which is cocoa and hazelnut biscuits with a rum and dark chocolate filling,

which is right up my street because I love a bit of a boozy chocolate treat, a boozy pudding.

I love hearing these, so anything like that I'm really up for.

These have got a really rum flavoured smell, which is great.

And they've got a really generous filling, which is perfect.

So let's give it a whirl.

You can really taste the alcohol in that, which is brilliant for me.

That's delicious.

It's still really chocolatey, but you've got a real kind of warming kick of rum.

And the biscuits are nice. They're kind of soft, but still a little bit crunchy, which is good.

It holds it all together well.

And actually, one biscuit is quite a lot.

There's quite a lot in the pack anyway.

But even just one of these with a little cup of coffee would be delicious.

I'd highly recommend. And there's loads of other products on the website as well that I've had a look through.

Things flavoured with limoncello and cherries and it all just sounds wonderful.
