00:00The National Crime Agency along with partners in Belgium have today announced the arrest of a man
00:04suspected of being a very significant supplier of small boats equipment to people smugglers
00:09operating in the English Channel. He was detained at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam yesterday
00:14as part of an operation involving the National Crime Agency, Dutch and Belgian law enforcement,
00:19as well as Europol and Eurojust. The individual is now facing extradition to Belgium where he's
00:25wanted to face charges of human smuggling. Due to legal restrictions in Belgium at this stage we
00:30are not in a position to name him but what I can say he is a 44 year old Turkish national.
00:38We can also say he has been one of the top targets for the National Crime Agency over
00:42several years. This individual is being suspected of one being one of the most
00:45prolific suppliers of engines boats and other maritime equipment to cross-channel smugglers.
