00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD,

00:04assured that they are ready to help our fellow countrymen in need

00:07in the upcoming typhoon that will enter our country.

00:10This is also in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.

00:15to continue the proactive disaster response effort.

00:19As of now, there are more than 1.4 million family food bags

00:23and more than a billion pesos of humanitarian assistance

00:26that the DSWD has distributed.

00:29The agency has also instructed local governments

00:32to place warehouses where relief items and family food bags will be placed

00:38to speed up the response.

00:40According to the agency, more than 2.7 million families

00:44were affected by the typhoon,

00:46most of which came from the central and northern Luzon,

00:49while more than 700,000 families were affected in the Bicol region.

00:54The agency is also continuing to distribute cash assistance.

00:58This includes assistance to individuals in crisis situations

01:01and emergency cash transfer assistance

01:04for the construction of damaged houses.

01:08We call for volunteers.

01:10We make calls to help our fellow countrymen in need.
