00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is in support of the two maritime laws

00:05that are far from protecting the territory and maritime resources of the country.

00:09Some senators also expressed the importance of the two new laws.

00:18After China's reaction to the new law

00:21signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:25on the maritime zones of the Philippines,

00:28the President responded.

00:51According to Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino,

00:54who is the principal author of the Philippine Maritime Zones Act

00:57and Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act,

01:00the PMZ laughs at our opposition

01:03as a country that protects our maritime rights and sovereignty.

01:07The senator also refuted China's repeated criticism of the said law.

01:12If other countries can crush their claims,

01:15so can the Philippines.

01:16We have the full right to establish our maritime boundaries

01:21and protect our national interests.

01:23Senator Loren Legarda is grateful to the President

01:26for his support of the said laws.

01:28The Philippine Maritime Zones Act and the Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act

01:33will not only protect the integrity of our territory,

01:37but will also strengthen our legal and environmental frameworks.

01:41Senate President Francis Escudero said,

01:43in upholding our rights,

01:45it is also in line with the use of our natural resources

01:49to benefit the people.
