00:00In the middle of the country's celebration of the 11th anniversary of the super typhoon Yolanda,

00:07House Speaker Martin Valdez called on everyone to monitor and prepare for climate change.

00:13On November 8, 2013, Yolanda hit the country

00:17and the Takloban city in Leyte, Saqob, was the first to be ravaged.

00:22This was visited by District Attorney Romualdez.

00:24According to the House Speaker, this tragedy should not be repeated

00:28so that the mechanisms for disaster response and resilience of the country should be strengthened.

00:35As citizens, Romualdez recognizes their obligation to improve

00:40the government's actions on climate change,

00:43so this is also one of their priorities now.

00:46One of the initiatives assisted by the House as part of the disaster

00:50is the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act

00:53that pushes for the construction of resilient and well-organized evacuation centers

00:57in different parts of the country.

00:59The House leader said that it is not enough to just be prepared.

01:03There should be long-term structures that are also used by the people

01:08so they are determined to support it.
