I tried Costa Coffee's new Christmas menu

I tried the Caramel Nutcracker Latte and the Berry Red Velvet Mini Loaf from Costa Coffee's Christmas 2024 range.

00:00Hi, I'm Holly Alton, a food and drink writer for National World.

00:03Today I'm going to be taste testing two items that are part of Costa Coffee's Christmas 2024 menu.

00:10Costa Coffee has launched its brand new Christmas 2024 menu today, Thursday November 7th

00:17and I am so excited to get into what they have for us.

00:21The brand new menu features returning and brand new hot drinks, cold drinks,

00:26as well as sweet treats and sandwiches among many more things.

00:31Today I visited my local Costa to take a look at what is on offer

00:35and picked out some of the things that caught my eye to try at home.

00:39My favourite coffee order is a latte.

00:41However, I always love to add in caramel syrup.

00:43So really when I go to order a coffee, I'll tend to go for a caramel latte.

00:47But when there's a festive drink there or anything sort of brand new and unique, I always love to try it.

00:53So the caramel nutcracker latte I thought would be perfect for me.

00:57And here it is.

00:59So before I actually go in to taste it and see if it's as good as it sounds,

01:03I want to first talk about the cups.

01:05I absolutely love Christmas and I love it when brands get involved with the festivities

01:10by releasing special edition, not only drinks and food, but even the cups and things like that.

01:17It just makes me so excited.

01:19So here you can see Costa's brand new Christmas cups, which I think are absolutely stunning.

01:26So featured on the design of the cup is Costa's recognisable logo,

01:30as well as its red colour in the background.

01:34But it also has snow, stars and all that sort of Christmas magic.

01:41My favourite thing on the design of the brand new Christmas cups at Costa Coffee

01:46is this cute image of a couple ice skating, which is just really adorable

01:51and really just tells the story of the magic of Christmas.

01:55So loving the brand new design for Christmas.

01:58So let's go in for the taste to see what the caramel nutcracker latte is actually like.

02:05That is lovely. It does definitely taste as good as it sounds.

02:09So you've got the latte notes of the creamy milk and all of that.

02:13It's really smooth. You can definitely taste the caramel quite prominently,

02:16which is something I really wanted to taste.

02:19And of course, with the nutcracker name, it has lots of nutty notes as well.

02:24And yeah, I think that's a great drink and definitely one I would purchase again

02:29if it returns next Christmas or throughout the Christmas season anyway.

02:32Also, if you are a fan of this drink, they have also launched a cake version of it

02:37so you can get a caramel nutcracker cake.

02:40I have yet to try that as another cake caught my eye, which I'll get into in a second.

02:45But yeah, I think that given how much I like the taste of this,

02:49I would definitely enjoy the cake as well.

02:51Okay, so speaking of cake, I couldn't resist picking up one of the brand new cakes

02:56that Costa Coffee has launched as part of its Christmas 2024 menu.

03:00And although I was tempted to try the caramel nutcracker cake

03:03to go alongside my caramel nutcracker latte,

03:06what actually caught my eye was the brand new Berry Red Velvet Mini Loaf.

03:11I love red velvet.

03:13But what actually really drew me to this cake was how Christmassy it looked.

03:17So I'm going to get it out of the paper and show it.

03:20So here it is. It's nice and small, but I assume it's going to be really sweet and filling.

03:25But why I thought it was so cute was the cute holly berry leaf design that it has,

03:31which just screams Christmas.

03:33And even the little wrapping of the red, white and green, it's just adorable

03:38and it's really getting me in the Christmas spirit.

03:40But I think it looks delicious as well.

03:42So let's go in with a taste.

03:47If you love red velvet, this will for sure be an instant hit with you.

03:51But what I've never had in a red velvet cake, which this has, is a gooey inside.

03:56And I absolutely love it.

03:58Very delicious, very sweet.

04:00This is actually perfect as I don't think I could eat anything bigger than this.

04:04But yeah, great Christmas edition.

04:06I'm going to take a sip of my latte to see if the two different tastes complement each other

04:10or if it's a bit weird.

04:12No, that's still really nice, which just shows that you don't have to get something that is similar to your coffee.

04:18You can get two different things because the two tastes, even though slightly different,

04:25caramel nutcracker and berry red velvet,

04:29very different things but complement each other really well,

04:32which just shows you can mix and match, try a few different things.

04:35So overall, I'd say Custard Coffee has done Christmas excellently this year

04:40with their brand new launches of hot drinks, sweets and savoury food as well.

04:46Take a trip down, check it out, see what you guys think.

04:49But for me, it's definitely a thumbs up.
