Luis Gutierrez, correspondent in Los Angeles, California, reports on the development of election night in the most populated state in the country.

00:00Now we go back to LA where our correspondent Luis Gutierrez is ready to join us.

00:06Hello Luis, please tell us what you know from there and what are the latest updates?

00:14Hi, I'm from San Luis, California.

00:18We are only a few minutes away before the polls close in the States.

00:23Right behind me is one of the polls, the one at the Silver Lake Library in the east of Los Angeles.

00:31As we know, California is the most populated state of the U.S.

00:38Because of this, it will be probably one of the last ones where we will get results.

00:45And also because it is one of the ones that will be closing the polls last.

00:51So we won't really be able to know exactly who is the winner of this state for a few days.

01:01We won't have a final winner.

01:03However, we do know that this state has historically been a democratic state,

01:08a state that votes for the Democratic Party and it is not likely to change today.

01:16Okay, Luis, and I would like to ask you about what are the streets like right now?

01:21What's the feeling of the people?

01:23What can you tell us about how these polls that are closing right now,

01:29how the centers are closing right now, how is that affecting, how can you feel the ambience?

01:35We have results from wider parts of the states.

01:40Wider parts of the states.

01:41Of course, the West Coast is the last part of the country to close its centers

01:47and it will be the last to offer results.

01:50So how are people following this election process at this moment?

01:57Yes, well, the entire day in Los Angeles has been relatively calm.

02:02People have been voting the entire day.

02:05They just have been, you know, in different times of the day.

02:10There were larger or smaller crowds in the morning.

02:14We saw a big number of people voting before going to work.

02:18Then we had a lot of people also going during their lunch break.

02:21And it seems that after 5, 6 p.m. there was a large crowd as well of people leaving work.

02:28And right now, as I was saying, we're only like five minutes away before these polls close.

02:35We just see people coming in very calmly to deposit their votes.

02:39Some of them are not even going inside the polls.

02:41They're using some of the mailboxes that are installed outside of the polling stations.

02:47And I think what will come next at 8 p.m., after all the voting is done,

02:52and what has already begun in several parts of the city, are watch parties.

02:56And that is where people are going to be following the results of this election.

03:01Because knowing that the state will likely vote for Kamala Harris as the next president

03:07for the United States, they will still be following their results through the night,

03:15hoping to find out who is the winner.

03:25What are, have you been talking to colleagues from other parts of the country?

03:32What are they saying in just other regions?

03:36Of course, we know that many of the states in the West Coast,

03:41that we do not have results for them so far.

03:44They are assumed to be voting Democrat just because of tendencies and also polls.

03:51But we have results from other parts of the country.

03:54And I would like to ask you if you have a general feel of what these results could look like.

04:02Yes, of course.

04:03Well, the main point of attention right now outside, in the other side of the country,

04:09is those three states that are part of the so-called blue wall that the Democrats have

04:16managed to hold in the, or like that Joe Biden managed to hold to the last election.

04:22That gives him the victory, which are Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and, sorry, I'm about to forget.

04:34Well, these three states are the ones that could give Kamala Harris the win.

04:40So far, it seems that Donald Trump might be actually winning.

04:50They haven't been able to call any of these.

04:52Most of these three states have not been able to call.

04:54The closest one to being called has been Georgia.

04:57And Arizona has actually been one of the other ones that could be giving us results very soon.
