Bispham tip fire sends thick black smoke billowing over rooftops, November 5, 2024

The tip in Bispham has caught fire, causing thick clouds of black smoke to billow over rooftops this afternoon.  The fire broke out inside a container at the household waste and recycling centre in Bristol Avenue at around 2pm.

00:05on a fire at the Recycling Centre in Bisbon this afternoon. The tip in Bisbon and Bristol

00:11Avenue caught fire, causing thick clouds of black smoke to bill over rooftops from 2pm.

00:17The fire started in a container at the Household Waste and Recycling Centre, but the cause

00:21is not known at this stage. The fire service has yet to comment, but it's advisable that

00:26residents keep doors and windows shut until it is brought under control. Black Bull Council

00:31said that the tip will be closed until tomorrow. A spokesperson for the council said there

00:36was a fire at the Waste and Recycling Centre and the fire service attended. It is under

00:39control and the centre will reopen tomorrow. We cannot confirm at this stage the cause
