For your information, as of now, 89 out of 156 PBTs have their own landscape department or unit
00:09
that functions to manage the landscape development in order to ensure that
00:15
the management and maintenance of trees are carried out continuously.
00:20
For PBTs that do not have their own landscape department or unit,
00:25
this function has been carried out by technical units related to PBTs,
00:29
out of 89 PBTs, only 18 have their own landscape department or unit
00:40
and are still actively serving.
00:42
In this effort to strengthen the management and maintenance of trees
00:47
in the airport area of this country, KPKT is very keen
00:51
to ensure that each PBT has at least one landscape department or unit
00:55
before 2030.
00:58
In relation to the issue of trees, KPKT sees this as a serious issue
01:03
and has also risked the safety of the public.
01:06
One of the causes of this incident could be the trees that are already old
01:12
in the airport areas.
01:14
In fact, there are several actions that have been taken by KPKT.
01:19
First, the Green Area Assessment and Maintenance Programme
01:23
focuses on trees that are old, risky and dangerous.
01:31
Second, the provision of more than 10 guidelines and tree management manuals
01:36
as a reference for the PBTs.
01:38
Third, the establishment of professional skills among PBTs
01:43
who are provided with a platform for learning and training
01:47
through technical training
01:51
and will continue to be carried out under the KPKT Training Institute or IKPKT.
01:56
Participants will be given a presentation on theory and hands-on sessions
02:01
covering the aspects of planting and management
02:04
as well as the maintenance of amenity trees
02:06
based on the Arboriculture and Horticulture guidelines
02:11
through an education and teaching model
02:13
that has been designed under the Master Gardener module.
