00:07It's been confirmed that the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council is on heightened alert

00:13due to the onset of Hurricane Marcy.

00:16According to NDRRMC, Chairperson and Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr.,

00:22the agencies monitoring the hurricane are in charge.

00:25At the same time, Teodoro said that they will add relief goods to the victims of Hurricane Christine and Leon,

00:34a priority area of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to help the victims of calamity.

00:42President Marcos Jr. ordered the Department of Science and Technology

00:46to improve the warning systems and continue cooperation with various agencies.

00:54The President explained that this is to improve the preparation for the time of calamity

00:59and to ensure the safety of our fellowmen.

01:02Meanwhile, the President also ordered to make it a standard to be careful

01:07or to slowly reduce the water in the dams before the hurricane arrives.

01:12This is to avoid the severe damage caused by floods whenever there is a strong calamity.

01:19I also asked the DOSD and DILG to ensure proper communication with the local governments

01:28so that they are prepared for the time of calamity.

01:33The DILG's Operation Listo program continues

01:39to strengthen the disaster preparedness of our LGUs

01:44for the preparation, response, and follow-up to the calamities.
