00:05bed-making factory. The Royal visit at Harrison Spinks' Beeston facility on Wednesday 30th

00:11October saw the manufacturer pick up a prestigious King's Award for Sustainable Development.

00:17Princess Anne began her tour at the Bedmakers' Farm in York, where she learnt about the farm's

00:21award-winning Wensleydale sheep and its use of hemp and flax in luxury mattress fittings.

00:27The Princess Royal was later taken on a tour of the Leeds manufacturing site on Westland

00:31Road, where she watched a live demonstration of traditional hand-stitching, tape-edging

00:36and tufting techniques. Chairman of Harrison Spinks, Simon Spinks, said the company were

00:41deeply honoured and grateful to welcome Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal, to their

00:45farm and factory, and thanked her for taking the time to learn about their sustainable

00:49practices. News of the award came shortly after Harrison Spinks was awarded Bed Manufacturer

00:55of the Year at the National Bed Federation Awards 2024.
