01:09so if freedom is the goal of life

01:12surely we are presupposing

01:15bondage right without bondage there can be

01:18no question of freedom, liberation, Mukti

01:21so that's what the freedom

01:24is from

01:27all kinds of compulsions

01:30yeah but that is again a superficial

01:33way of Mukti the deeper

01:36level as you say

01:39or where we read that

01:42Mukti from

01:45to be desireless, to be detached

01:48and finally like in

01:51it's mentioned in the scriptures

01:54I mean like

01:57you know

02:06I mean how to express it I mean to be

02:09the final ultimate goal of every human

02:12being though we have been given birth is

02:15to free from the

02:18cycle of birth and rebirth and that is the

02:21ultimate, it is not

02:24it is not your next birth that troubles you

02:27it is the bondages that you

02:30experience in this birth

02:36it is the bondages that you experience

02:39in this birth right here that's what

02:42troubles you who is experiencing

02:45troubles related to the next birth please tell me

02:48and all of us indeed

02:51do have troubles what are

02:54your troubles about

02:57here this so that's the compulsion we

03:03to entertain troubles to not to drop

03:06them

03:09to think that we are

03:12helpless in the matter of troubles

03:15that's what liberation is

03:18liberation is not about the previous birth or the next

03:21birth liberation is

03:24freedom from the bondages that you experience

03:27right now and the

03:30experiencer of the

03:33bondage is

03:36herself the bondage

03:39there is no objective bondage

03:42the one who experiences bondages

03:45is herself in illusion

03:48so you could also put it as

03:53freedom from illusion or ignorance

03:56we do not know who we are

03:59therefore we feel obliged to

04:02keep suffering trouble

04:06once you put on

04:09some random dubious

04:13fake identity you'll have to do everything

04:16that the identity demands of you

04:19none of these identities is real

04:22and therefore the compulsions

04:25attached to those identities are not

04:28obligatory that's liberation

04:31Desire

04:39when it finishes

04:42nothing will be left

04:45how is life with desires

04:48yeah

04:51you are asking how would be life

04:54without desires

04:57that's too much of speculation

05:00shouldn't the question be how is life with desires

05:03how is life with desires

05:06and when you see that

05:09what so ever is the alternative

05:12is acceptable

05:21of desirousness is a state

05:24of ignorance we do not know

05:27who we are therefore we desire for the wrong

05:48so surely the fruits of your action are benefiting

05:51somebody else they are not benefiting you

06:15in this state of ignorance if I try to speculate

06:18how life would be without

06:21desire what would be the quality of my speculation

06:45virtues of abstinence you say don't drink

06:48and in my drunken state I say

06:51but I want to understand what would be the benefits

08:21look at your knee that's how you navigate

08:24look at your pain acknowledge your suffering

08:27so like suffering is

08:30like you said fulfilling life

08:33but if suffering is fulfilling

08:36acknowledge don't inflict

08:39there is a difference between creating suffering

08:42and acknowledging that you are already

08:45suffering

08:48and that's

08:51hard right and that's the reason most people

08:54prefer to rather live

08:57false lives because if they acknowledge their

09:00real state it pains

09:03it's like being

09:06out of sedation

09:09when you are sedated you don't feel pain

09:12or when you are anesthetized you don't feel pain

09:15so people choose to remain on sedation

09:18on tranquilizers on such things

09:21so if I acknowledge the pain

09:24what do I do then

09:27then there is a natural thing within you

09:30that seeks joy

09:34we are not born to live in pain

09:37our nature is joy

09:40and that's the reason why we all rush

09:43towards that poor proxy called happiness

09:46because happiness to an extent

09:49seems like joy

09:52in both joy and happiness

09:55there is an absence of sorrow

09:58so we rush towards happiness because it

10:01appears a bit like joy though happiness is not at all joy

10:04happiness is just

10:07a shady cousin of sorrow

10:10but we rush towards it because it looks like joy

10:13so your nature is joy the moment you acknowledge pain

10:16you will find yourself dropping it

10:19and

10:22in that lies your freedom

10:25in that lies the power of choice

10:28you can drop your pain

10:31and pain is not compulsory

10:34you are not

10:37mandated to live a life of suffering

10:40if you suffer

10:43that's a choice you have inflicted on yourself

10:46and you can reverse that choice

10:49we

10:52all have the liberty

10:55rather an internal obligation

10:58to bring ourselves

11:01to a joyous state

11:04a state of complete bloom

11:07that's what we are born for right

11:10you look at a flower

11:13how do you feel about a flower

11:16that remained a bird or got nipped in the bird

11:19or flowered but incompletely

11:22you want it to bloom fully

11:25that's what is the purpose of life

11:28full bloom

11:31and it's therefore quite tragic

11:34if we pass away

11:37without expressing ourselves

11:40blooming fully

11:43actually living, reaching your utmost potential

11:46dropping your last

11:49bondages

12:07we should live without desires

12:10my desire can be

12:19it is a desire

12:28dropping desire is not the objective

12:31when you are an unfulfilled person

12:34to begin with

12:37how can you not have desire

12:40the thing is to have a sane desire

12:43my desire should be for a doctor

12:46not a dancer

12:49not a joker

12:52desire the right thing

12:55and have

12:58an intense desire for the right thing

13:01wisdom is not about

13:04being desireless in the first go itself

13:07we all rather need desire

13:10but we need desire

13:13that proves good

13:16that's of some utility

13:19if your desire ends up troubling you all the more

13:22what good is the desire

13:25you can be a slave to the desire

13:28if it's the right desire

13:31in fact you must be a slave to the right desire

13:34desire rightly and immerse yourself totally in your desire

13:37give yourself up, surrender

13:40sir my question is how we control our emotions

13:43in a difficult situation

13:46and we maintain our life peacefully

13:49ma'am mostly our emotions are not our own

13:52they are so pattern based

13:55so pattern based

13:58if you just recall what made you angry the last time

14:01just the recall will make you angry again

14:07just try to

14:10recall what embarrassed you the last time

14:13just the recall will embarrass you again

14:16there is

14:19there is nothing but a pattern

14:22so they are not your emotions

14:25it's like having a button that somebody

14:28anybody randomly can come and just push

14:31is there any spiritual practice

14:34spiritual practice to control our emotions

14:37just tell yourself that's not me

14:40that's not my emotion

14:43address yourself

17:45the more you see how predictable you are

17:48the more you see how mechanical you are

17:51because only machines can be predicted, only machines can be programmed

17:54if you can predict your behavior, your reactions

17:57in advance then you know that you are just

18:00a lump of chemicals, hormones

18:03circuits and that's not

18:06what consciousness is, consciousness is supposed to be

18:09free, right?

18:12circuit is not free, chemical reactions are not free

18:15sodium and potassium

18:18cannot decide whether to react with water

18:21they are constrained to react

18:24do you want to be just

18:27a chemical, a chemical that is

18:30obliged to act in certain ways, there is freedom

18:33then

18:36predict yourself

18:39predict yourself and then defy the prediction

18:42so I was supposed to be angry
