00:00For those who love billiards, you have something new to look forward to next year.

00:05This is the return of the nine-ball tournament named after the Filipino billiard legend, Efren Bata Reyes.

00:11Let's take a look at the center of the news, Bernadette Tinoy of TTV Sports.

00:19After the historic inaugural Reyes Cup that was held at Ninoy Aquino Stadium last week,

00:25Matchroom's CEO, Emily Fraser, announced that the nine-ball tournament will return to the country in 2025.

00:32The so-called international tournament is also a recognition of the country's greatest pool player of all time, Efren Bata Reyes.

00:40Within four days, Team Asia joined the lead of Reyes and several national players such as Johan Chua and Carlo Biado,

00:48where they faced Team Europe led by Carl Boyce, Jason Shaw, and Eklen Cachie.

00:54Team Asia won the tournament, which ended in a score of 11-6.

01:09Meanwhile, AJ Manas was crowned champion after the 1999 Billiards Club Tournament held in Vietnam.

01:17In the finals, he defeated Harry Vergara with a score of 13-12.

01:21Manas was re-elected by the Philippine Sports Commission because of the heart he left in the tournament.
