01:01You know when they started taking a knee and saying we're gonna play for the field goal

01:06It wasn't like the shortest field goal ever, but it's totally makeable by an NFL kicker

01:13But it's beyond the distance that you see for an extra points and you for an extra point you see plenty kickers missing extra points

01:22Feeling inside like I don't I don't know I trust this yeah, but they trusted it

01:26Yeah, and that's and that's why you have a kicker. I mean you you have to trust your kicker on your roster

01:34To drill it from inside of 50 and when you get beyond 50. It's it's less of a you know what they did

01:40But today's NFL it seems like it's almost a certainty now anything inside of 55. They treated that situation

01:46Like they had faith in their kicker. Yes, they treated that situation

01:50Like they had you know peak Mason Crosby or somebody like they had a guy that they knew would make that kick

01:56That's how they treated this situation, okay, we got all the yardage we need we made it down to the 26

02:06We know our guys gonna make it that's how they treated it and until you see him in that situation

02:13Look they they acted like they knew they had enough and

02:17Certainly, it's not about the distance

02:20But the further out you are

02:25Angle, you know the you have you have you have to be more perfect

02:28The further flight of the ball, you know, if it's off by a couple of degrees one way or the other it's gonna sail wide

02:35So, you know the further the ball has to travel the greater chance for him to miss right or left

02:42The distance isn't the issue was are you know and and there's your pressure like that's that's a pressure kick

02:48That's not a gimme kick by any stretch of the imagination on the road hostile environment

02:53For the win, it's perfect conditions, but you expect a good NFL kicker to make that that kick and

03:01as we felt our way through this situation and tried navigated it Jake Bates came through and

03:13Based upon this it looks like they might I mean, you know, he's been great and

03:20You're like was that good he's had if he's had more than a few extra points where they have been

03:33And I'm sure his plan is to go right down the middle on every kick

03:37But it feels like I somebody's kicks like it's about velocity more than anything else

03:45The distance isn't gonna catch up to me because the ball's just gonna shoot through the uprights before he has a chance to go

03:59I think he missed one extra point maybe yep, but he's been fantastic and what a situation we put into

04:52There's short-term solutions, but there's long-term solutions. I feel better about Jake Bates today

05:03I always think it's weird for kickers because they're just cut from a different cloth
