When I returned to Bukidnon after 14 years, I was full of anxiety and excitement about my new discoveries.
00:09
The first stop I chose was known as one of the cleanest waters in Northern Mindanao in 1990.
00:21
Welcome to Bukidnon!
00:24
Now, we're here at Lake Apo. I'm in Valencia City.
00:30
Look at the view. It's so beautiful.
00:36
While I was admiring the picture-friendly Lake Apo in its floating cottage,
00:40
I couldn't help but pose and feel grateful for the beautiful view.
00:45
The aura was so beautiful.
00:47
Travel photos, check now!
00:50
Lake Apo is a type of crater lake.
00:53
It means that it was formed from a volcano that was filled with water.
00:58
It has an area of 24 hectares and can reach up to 26 meters deep.
01:04
It was called Lake Apo because the word Apo in Bisaya means old, just like our grandparents.
01:12
According to legends, there was an old man living in this mountain who mistreated his grandson.
01:19
As punishment, the gods of the mountain created the area where he lived until Lake Apo was formed.
01:31
When we reached the other side of the lake, we saw the entire barangay of Gino Yoran in Valencia City.
01:39
Why would you have a problem if you don't have a budget to go to other countries?
01:44
While here, you can see what other countries have, right?
01:50
Of course, let's take a look at the Philippines first.
01:54
Can you see what I'm seeing?
01:57
Oh my God, this is so beautiful.
01:59
Beautiful.
02:01
Old trees.
02:03
Mountains around.
02:06
Wow.
02:07
This is really a family trip.
02:10
You can do everything here in the beautiful Bukidnon.
02:15
You will enjoy the beautiful views here.
02:20
This is one of the places you can go if you have IT.
02:25
If you are going to Bukidnon, this is Lake Apo.
02:30
In order to lower the temperature in Bukidnon, what else is good to plant?
02:34
If you can't pack chocolate bars or hot water bottles,
02:38
you can make cacao.
02:44
There you go, Wanderers.
02:45
Did you know that Bukidnon is starting to be known because of their cacao products?
02:54
There you go.
02:56
There you go.
02:57
Oh, I can already smell it.
03:02
It's really tasty.
03:04
Even to the tip of my teeth.
03:10
The mountains are rising.
03:11
Pine trees are growing.
03:13
The fog is thick.
03:14
It is accompanied by a cold climate.
03:16
Wanderers, we are not in Baguio, okay?
03:19
We are here in Pine Ridge, Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
03:23
This place was opened to the public in 2020.
03:26
This place is a partnership with Bukidnon Taguluanon Tribe.
03:31
They own the area and we developed the place.
03:34
And of course, we share a certain percentage of the income.
03:43
There is no signal and no internet here.
03:45
So, leave what is behind.
03:48
And just enjoy nature.
03:50
You can also have a me-time with your loved ones.
03:57
If you are looking for a quiet, quiet campsite,
04:00
you will definitely like this place.
04:04
We are proud of Davao del Sur.
04:07
As you can see, the place is very relaxing.
04:12
So, we enjoyed it.
04:13
Hopefully, we can come back here next year.
04:15
It's so delicious.
04:16
As in, you have to go to Baguio, but Baguio from the South.
04:20
Yes!
04:24
Wanderers, have you ever thought about where you can get chocolate like Sikwate?
04:30
In Pine Ridge, not only is the campsite spacious,
04:33
but their food is also delicious.
04:37
In Pine Ridge, not only is the campsite spacious,
04:40
but their food is also delicious.
04:41
Because there is also a 7-hectare cacao farm here.
04:44
And one of the cacao farmers,
04:46
who is also a member of the Bukidnon Taguluanon Tribe,
04:50
is our wanderer, Alex.
04:55
Before you can touch the sweet tablea,
04:57
you have to go through a bitter process.
05:00
It takes 5 years for the cacao to grow.
05:04
This is also how our wanderer, Alex, lived his life.
05:08
He had bitter experiences, but he tried to find sweetness in his life.
05:34
Back then, he was far from his family.
05:42
Now, because of his hard work, he is with them every day.
05:47
It is true that every breath,
05:49
the hard work and love of the cacao farmers of Bukidnon shines.
05:55
So, the next time you take a sip of your hot Sikwate from Bukidnon,
05:59
know that you are special, mga ka.
