00:00Rich Fahey from Manchester World here, full-time at Old Trafford, and Manchester United come from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League.
00:09Goals for Plasmas Hoyland and Alejandro Garnaccio, defeating a deserved comeback for United and easing the pressure on manager Eric ten Haag
00:18after what has been a very long international break in which they've been left to dwell on their fourth start to a new Premier League season.
00:25United, in all honesty and all truth, were the better team here against a very good Brentford team who are capable of producing an upset themselves.
00:34It was quite a tame first half, Brentford certainly started as the better of the two teams, but it was United who had the better quality of the opportunities.
00:42Mark Flecken fumbled the ball on his own goal line and almost gifted United an early lead.
00:49There was also chances for the likes of Alejandro Garnaccio who fired in to the near post.
00:55But on half-time was the moment of controversy which looked like it could threaten to be the main narrative from this match.
01:02Matthijs de Ligt had gone down injured earlier in the first half, but he conceded a free-kick and cut his head open.
01:08He was forced off initially and he got that treated, and then he was forced again.
01:15This time he got treated again, but once again the blow continued to the man on his head.
01:20Now, right on half-time, United conceded a corner and just as it was about to be swung in, the referee forced de Ligt off for a third time.
01:29He hadn't been treated properly by United's medical staff.
01:32The Old Trafford crowd were furious with the referee and the officials for ordering de Ligt to leave the pitch at that moment in time.
01:40The truth is, it was a question of why he wasn't dealt with properly in the first place, or if not the second instance.
01:46The corner comes in, United's defending was terrible, Djoko Dalot is swooshed off and Ethan Pinnock headed in.
01:52United went into the half-time break, a goal down.
01:55Ted Hargav and Nestroi were both booked for their protest to the match officials, and it looked like we said that could be the narrative.
02:02Thankfully for United, they did respond in style.
02:05They were resilient and used that injustice, perhaps, to fuel their second-half comeback.
02:11Within 90 seconds of the restart, they were level.
02:14It was a great move again. Marcus Rashford on the right-hand side with a brilliant cross, but was volleyed in by Alejandro Garnacho.
02:22And on the power mark, United took the lead.
02:25Bruno Fernandes had quite a frustrating game, some poor decision-making from him.
02:30But it was the moment, the matter for him, that once again made the difference.
02:35The most exquisite world-class flick to set Erasmus Hollywood's own goal.
02:39And he lifted the ball delicately over Flecken to give United the lead.
02:43And it's a credit as well to United that after that, they sort of killed the game off.
02:46There was never really too much of a threat that Brenton would get back into it.
02:50Although, this being my night out, there were a few scarce shots that went wide on the post and caused a little bit of a panic.
02:55But, all in all, United probably did deserve the three points today.
02:59It's a good building block for Eriksen Haag ahead of a busy few weeks.
03:03Of course, a trip to Istanbul coming up and West Ham away next weekend as well.
03:08Full-time from Old Trafford, Manchester United 2, Brentford 1.
03:12A game in which Man Utd's forwards stole the show.
