00:00So, Rich, looking at Manchester United, obviously the key story that has sort of lingered over
00:05the club for, you know, up until that FA Cup win last season as well, you know, ten arcs
00:11future and how sort of mediocre some of the moments have been in his time. He's obviously
00:17had some good ones, he's had some extremely bad ones, but it's seeming lately to just
00:21be petering out a little bit and it's all a bit, you know, five out of ten, four out
00:26of ten, that sort of range and Manchester United fans are clearly not too satisfied
00:31at the moment. What's the latest you can tell us on ten arcs future? Obviously, it's such
00:35a huge talking point at this stage of the season.
00:38It is, and I guess it's more of the same really for United. As you said there, we've come
00:43to expect that during ten arcs reign. He insists that he will be given the time to turn things
00:48round. He talks about this long term process and he said after the Villa game last time
00:54out that he was in open and transparent talks with the leadership group on an almost daily
01:00basis. He said that it would be a surprise to him if anything did change just because
01:04he insists he hasn't been alerted to the fact that his job could be at risk. The issue now,
01:09though, for United is that while they will understandably appreciate that there are teething
01:15issues with the new hierarchy and the new leadership group, as we said, there has been
01:21a lot more accountability now on the merger. So Jim Ratcliffe said in the summer, the coach
01:26is not the central issue at Manchester United. I think there was an appreciation that, you
01:31know, under strict Glazer sort of rule, they didn't have the right footballing people in
01:36charge at the top end. Ten Haag was obviously involved heavily in recruitment. He still
01:41is, which is problematic in itself. But United now have Dan Ashworth, they've got Berrada,
01:47they've got Wilcox, they've got Ratcliffe. And there just has to be a lot more accountability
01:53now on Ten Haag. They changed so much in the summer, there was 250 redundancies. Maybe
01:59that has to be 251, because ultimately right now, the performances and the results just
02:05aren't matching. And you can look at the last two United matches, Porto away and Villa away.
02:10OK, they're decent points really in isolation. They're not sackable offences to go to Villa
02:15Park and draw anymore. But it's the manner of the performance. United went to Villa Park
02:20not to win the game, but to avoid defeat. And having gone into sort of damage limitation
02:27mode as early as October, that signals another season of stagnation really. And in their
02:32third season under Ten Haag, who's been backed with over £600m in the transfer window, there
02:38has to be a lot more accountability now for the manager. But he insists he will remain
02:42in charge. United will have to decide this international break. So we will see. They
02:48remain in talks every single day. And right now, I guess it would be quite tough to sack
02:52him on the back of two drawers.
