00:00Women in Art Fair started trying to re-address the gender imbalance within the art industry.
00:08This is our second year, we started creating it about seven years ago.
00:14SRQS Gallery is a gallery that represents artists who identify as women and so for me
00:24it made a lot of sense to come and show work at the Women in Art Fair.
00:30The Women in Art Fair has given Arts for Dementia an opportunity to show some work that we can
00:37sell to benefit people with dementia.
00:44This year in the open call we had submitted over 2,000 applications and artworks and we've
00:51brought it down to about 100 and something.
00:54We had an incredible response.
01:04It's really fascinating actually walking around and seeing all the work, there's a real kind
01:08of feeling of hope and joy actually.
01:13I don't think sex should define art, it's just whether you're a man or a woman you're
01:17still an artist I'm sure you're motivated by very similar reasons.
01:19But of course it's great to have a women-centred space where we're really able to see what
01:24amazing art women can make.
