00:00A container of smuggled white onions was found in the vault of the Bureau of Plant Industry and Bureau of Customs.

00:11According to the investigation, the shipment arrived in the Philippines from China in July.

00:16The shipment was imported for the same month and the permits for the importation of the products were suspended.

00:24This means that the importation of onions is illegal.

00:29The authorities have already confiscated the smuggled onions worth P3.5 million.

00:36According to the Agriculture Department, the agency will not stop arresting those who are involved.

00:43A heavier punishment can be faced under the new Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act.
