Israeli airstrike kills 27 people at Gaza school shelter
Israeli jets struck a school being used as a shelter in central Gaza on Thursday, killing 27 people including six women and at least one child, doctors said.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said they had targeted militants who were hiding among the civilian population and had set up a “command and control centre” in the school.

Local reports claimed that there had been a meeting at the school, Rufaydah in Deir al-Balah, but it had been between school managers and aid workers.
