00:00I'm Mark Green, I'm CEO of InKindirect, which is an amazing UK charity founded by
00:07His Majesty the King.
00:10And what we do is we receive donated products from businesses and retailers and brands.
00:18We store, we sort, and then we distribute them out to around 6,500 UK charities across
00:25the UK.
00:26Hygiene poverty is actually a phrase we coined in 2017.
00:31We identified this sort of, actually at the time, hidden but growing crisis and what it
00:36describes is people, households who fundamentally can't afford the products they need, the basic
00:43personal hygiene products they need to keep clean.
00:47Things like deodorants and shower gels and shampoos, things many of us frankly take for
00:52granted.
00:53Just shy of 10 million UK adults living in hygiene poverty, that's a million more than
00:58a year ago.
