Police opened fire at a car that tried to ram into their mobile patrol vehicle in a car chase in Tuaran district, about 40km from Kota Kinabalu on Oct 3 night.

00:00Police officers were chasing two local men trying to flee on foot after a car chase in
00:14Tuaran Sabah on Thursday night.
00:21Tuaran OCPD Superintendent Noraidin Aghmaidin on Friday confirmed the incident, saying that
00:27the police eventually arrested the duo in their 30s.
00:31He said the incident happened near a petrol station in Telepok at 9.29pm, when the police
00:37patrol vehicle spotted a car that the duo were travelling in drove dangerously against
00:43traffic.
00:44He said the police attempted to intercept the car, but the driver accelerated and tried
00:48to crash into the patrol vehicle.
00:51He said they then fired several shots to stop the vehicle in self-defence and to ensure
00:55the safety of other motorists.
00:58The suspect's car then sped off towards Taman Sri Rugading before the police caught up
01:03with the car.
01:04Police said drug-related equipment was found in the car and the suspects had prior criminal
01:09records.
