00:07duo we have a pairing of them in the National League division

00:12series. Divisional rivals in both of our sets. Of course,

00:16the New York Mets rallying in historic fashion last night in

00:20Milwaukee. They advance for a match up against the

00:23Philadelphia Phillies in the division round that starts

00:26tomorrow around MLB. So let's start with the divisional odds

00:31for the NLDS between Philadelphia and New York. The

00:35Phil is a pretty hefty favorite at minus 188. Philadelphia has

00:39been great in the expanded postseason, which of course

00:42started during the 2022 campaign. They have played in

00:46the NLCS each of these past 2 years. Of course, they played

00:50in a World Series 2 years ago, but they were the wild card

00:54team where Red October got an early start in Philly. Now

00:58they've earned the rest and Joe as we reach the division round

01:02in the MLB postseason with the expanded playoff format. This

01:07is the time where you just ask before the break 162 games in

01:10the regular season. The long marathon that it is in MLB.

01:14What does it matter? Here's where the conversation

01:18intensifies because if you are a wild card team and we have

01:22seen at least in the three six matchups divisional champs

01:26wild card team needing it for the final 2 weeks month of the

01:29regular season to get in those wild card teams, the Tigers

01:33over the Astros in two games in Houston. The Mets get the last

01:37laugh over Milwaukee. The wild card teams have been great so

01:41far in MLB postseason action. It feels like it's rinse and

01:47repeat here. We talk about this every postseason and then we

01:51forget what short memories we have the same thing last year

01:55when Arizona we got to this point and we were laughing like

01:59well, there's no way Arizona is going to run a table here like

02:01I mean come on. You gotta be I mean congratulations. You got

02:04lucky out of a three game set, but there's no way there's no

02:08way you're going to end up running the table and win the

02:10national. Well, I can make the same argument here for the New

02:13York Mets now against this Philadelphia team. Can I who by

02:16the way been Philadelphia in years past and their successful

02:20postseasons usually did it the reverse way. They start slow

02:25and they finish playing their best baseball. I can make the

02:28argument Philadelphia playing its best baseball early and now

02:34I don't know what the hell you're going to get from them,

02:36which is worrisome. In the meantime, we have the Mets who

02:40are doing exactly what the Phillies did on their way to a

02:42World Series title over the last couple of years, Ben, which

02:45is play their best damn baseball. Get all the breaks

02:49everything rolling your way right now. Nothing on paper

02:53tells us the Mets should win this series when you look at the

02:55starting pitching rotations here, but guess what you

02:58counting out the Mets now because I certainly can't.
