00:00Well, Emmanuel Macron very much took the line that we expected him to, defending the influence

00:07of the international organization of the French-speaking world, insisting that this language has allowed

00:15people from all over the globe to spread their art and influence.

00:21He also announced the creation of an international college that's going to teach people from

00:29all over the world here at Villers-Couturiers, this site which was Macron's own project.

00:36In fact, he had this chateau restored, you know, not long after he took office.

00:41This was one of his projects and he didn't choose it by chance.

00:44This is where Alexandre Dumas, if any French literature fans are out there, this is where

00:50he lived.

00:52And this is also the chateau where, in the 16th century, King François, or Francis in

00:57French, the first, made it mandatory for the French language to be the official language

01:03of all legal and administrative acts here in France.

01:09But Macron also took a diplomatic line saying that this should be, it's not just language

01:15that brings us all together, it's also values of democracy and we all protect each other

01:21in this.

01:22He said we stand by our friends in Armenia.

01:25He also mentioned the Lebanese, saying that, you know, Lebanon whose sovereignty and peace

01:32had been shaken, he said we stand by their side.
