Typhoon Krathon Brings Rain, Landslides to Northern Taiwan

Typhoon Krathon caused landslides overnight in New Taipei in northern Taiwan as it approaches from the country’s southwest.

00:00Well the rain is coming down even stronger here in New Taipei City where

00:04cleaning crews are trying to clean up this landslide digging through mud and

00:09trees that fell last night and this road has been blocked for a few hours now.

00:15Earlier today the New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi came through to inspect the

00:21site which is behind a vocational school trying to determine if the buildings and

00:26campus are safe for students to come tomorrow.

00:43Now the city is still expecting strong winds and rain over the next couple of

00:48days as this typhoon holds over Taiwan and they say they're warning the people

00:54to take precautions try to stay indoors if possible and they'll try to make the

00:58best decisions to keep the most people safe.
