00:00There was some worry, would the Mets be all right, you know, playing a doubleheader, flying

00:07to Milwaukee, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, Mendoza said he wasn't worried at all.

00:11I knew we were in a good spot when we boarded the plane.

00:15You know, we celebrated, we got out of the clubhouse in Atlanta, and you could tell right

00:19away our mentality was next day, next game.

00:24Not thinking too far ahead, continue to have that type of mentality that we've been having

00:28throughout the whole year, one day at a time, one series at a time.

00:32And that's what I saw yesterday.

00:34Got here today, and we treat it just as a regular day, with the way our preparation

00:39goes, and, you know, the conversations, meetings, outside work, and we went out there and play

00:47our game.

00:4816 runs, Mike, in two days, Monday, eight runs, and dramatic runs, and then Tuesday,

00:57in a playoff opener on a road in a place they don't play well, in a house of horrors

01:01for them in Milwaukee, and they score eight runs there.

01:06They are the real deal.

01:08They are legit.

01:10And the weird thing about it is, you know, I've hated them my whole life.

01:13I've hated the Mets my whole life.

01:14I mean, they have tortured the Pirates ever since I was a little boy.

01:18But I'll say this, when I watch this team, I just literally pretend like they're not

01:22the Mets.

01:23Because if you hate a team as much as I hate them, you cannot sit back and enjoy watching

01:28them play this well.

01:31But I like this team because they're so tough, and they are so impossible to deal with, and

01:39to get out and to beat, that I respect that.

01:44And I like watching this team.

01:46I just pretend like they're not the Mets, even though they are.

01:50Like, I bet on them.

01:51I enjoy, I'm cheering for them when they're scoring and winning.

01:57Monday, I went crazy on the show when they hit the home runs.

02:02And you know, I hate to admit I like them.

02:04I really do hate to admit I like them.

02:06It makes me sick to my stomach.

02:08I never thought I'd see the day that I'd root for the New York Mets, because I loathe them.

02:14Every fiber in my body hates the Mets.

02:16My whole life, I couldn't stand them.

02:18And now I'm sitting here cheering for them.

02:20And Mafia's sitting back in the room right now, running the show, laughing at me.

02:24He's pointing a finger.

02:25He spit out his lunch.
