Hi kids! Today we will learn how to compare two different number of things.
00:10
Can you tell me which one is more? Mangoes or apples?
00:18
Yeah! Apples are more than mangoes.
00:24
Now, can you calculate how many more? Let's see.
00:32
To get the number of apples that are more than mangoes, you need to subtract the mangoes from the apples.
00:43
Count with me. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So what do we get? Five more apples are there.
00:57
Let's take one more example. Can you tell triangles are more or squares?
01:07
Yeah! Squares are more than triangles, but can you tell how many more? Try the same trick.
01:18
To get the number of squares that are more than triangles, you need to subtract the triangles from squares.
01:29
Now, count with me. 1, 2. So what do we get? 5 minus 3 equals 2.
01:46
Two more squares are there than triangles. Good!
01:53
Now, let's take another example. Can you tell dolls are more or teddies?
02:01
Yeah! Dolls are more than teddies, but can you tell how many more? Try the same trick.
02:13
To get the number of dolls that are more than teddies, you need to subtract the teddies from the dolls.
02:23
Count with me. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So what do we get? There are five more dolls than teddies.
02:40
Good! Now, let's take another example. Can you tell cups are more or plates?
02:50
Make 11 cups and 8 plates. Yes! Cups are more than plates, but can you tell how many more?
03:05
Try the same trick. To get the number of cups that are more than plates, you need to subtract the plates from the cups.
03:17
Count with me. 1, 2, 3. So what do we get? There are three more cups than plates.
03:28
Good! So kids, what have we learnt? We have learnt when one thing is more than the other.
03:38
Find out how many more by subtracting the smaller number of things from more number of things.
03:49
Good! Now you may go ahead and take a quiz to learn more. Bye-bye!
