Morning Manny, how are you doing? I've got some helpers. You clearly have. How was last
00:17
night then? Oh it was great, it rained all night, 12 hours of holding my brolly, so I'm
00:22
grateful that the sun's out there. We've got 18 hours coming up to 112,000 steps and a lap
00:31
80, 80 kilometres. And this is Long Knoll Primary School, a school that I've done a bit of a project
00:39
with for my workplace Network Rail, and they've just surprised me and come out today, year six,
00:44
to walk with me. So it's been amazing, you know, what a lift it is to see them. Just having that
00:50
support, plus I've seen Warrinda's been down as well. You've had a message online from Susie Perry?
00:54
Yeah, and Beverley Knight's niece turned up at half past two with a message off her. She came
01:00
straight from the concert at Cardiff and, you know, we had a complete stranger turn up at four o'clock
01:06
in the morning with two cups of tea. You know, it's been amazing, the support throughout the
01:11
night and yesterday as you saw, and you see today, so it's the adrenaline, you know, that I need and
01:17
we keep going. We've got more than 12 hours done, so how are the legs feeling right now?
01:22
They're okay, they're okay. They're not going to be perfect, but they're okay, you know.
01:25
So let's get everyone in at this point. Okay, get in everyone, get in.
01:33
Yep, everyone, big cheer.
01:39
Hey, how many of you are going to be walking with him through the night?
01:41
That's on camera, you realise that, right?
01:55
So Manny, I'll do a lap with you, let's keep walking. Let's go.
02:01
Come on people.
02:04
Do you ever sort of stop and think, I'm Manny from Wolverhampton, what am I doing?
02:09
All the time, mate. I've just got one.
02:23
I guarantee I'm going to walk into something at this point.
02:27
I'll tell you what, you go inside, it's a lot easier.
02:35
So far, what have been the hard bits?
02:39
Yeah, the rain was, because you had to hold a brolly like this, you know, you could wear all
02:43
the waterproofs, if it rains like it did last night, you'll get wet, so we had a brolly and
02:49
it's so hard to keep the arm in that position, and when it cleared up, it was such a relief.
02:53
Kevin at the back has been with me all night, he's just come back now, so I had support.
03:08
Go Manny go! Go Manny go! Go Manny go! Go Manny go! Go Manny go! Go Manny go!
03:19
We need him, we need him in the South Bank.
03:29
So you can see, Meissen Kang, more than 12 hours in, more than 80 kilometres.
03:34
Go Manny go! Go Manny go! Go Manny go! Go Manny go! Go Manny go! Go Manny go! Go Manny go!
03:41
There's the horses with us all the way around here.
03:44
This is what sponsorship is all about, this is what it's worth doing, to see someone like this,
03:49
do this, get the sponsorship he's getting, and get the love he's getting for the people as well.
04:01
You could have imagined these doing this with them on their way to Newcastle,
04:04
couldn't you? Unreal, honestly, this is just unreal, you know, when you need a lift,
04:09
when you're flagging a little bit, this is like better than any energy drink, you know, it's just
04:14
unreal, and these are the kids of our future, you know, we want to inspire them to do
04:19
these types of things when they're older. So while we're here Manny, let's talk about the course,
04:24
let's talk about the walk around, because we're going around St Jack Hayward Way right now,
04:31
towards the outside of the St Paul's stand, so has that been the hardest bit? Yeah, it's a little
04:35
bit of an incline there, but you know, it's okay, it's not too bad, and you know, but it's for the
04:41
cause, dementia UK, you know, it's an illness now, affects so many people, even had a guy from
04:49
Brighton turned up yesterday, who only lost his loved one just seven days ago, but he wanted to
04:55
be here in her memory, and you know, and these people need help, they need expertise help,
05:01
so that's what Dementia UK supply. These are really loud! They really are!
05:14
Keep going!
05:15
Let's give you an idea of the route that we're taking, to the left you've got Asda, to the right
05:21
you've got the St Ancolish stand, with the eponymous statue outside, St Paul's stand there,
05:30
St Paul's University, so the view's not exactly boring is it? No, I think I know every brick,
05:39
I know, I think I know every brick, you know, I've counted the bollards, I know all the stanchions
05:47
and the lampposts. That's the thing, how have you been keeping yourself entertained? Just these
05:51
people keep turning up, so I haven't had time to, you know, I've just been talking, and
05:58
point of the world's right with lots of different people, and lots of positivity shown by so many.
06:04
Obviously lots of people talking about wolves at the moment as well. Yeah, I think, you know what,
06:07
we haven't really spoke about the football that much, and this is, this shows you what
06:12
football clubs can do, which is more than football, and this is the best result isn't it?
06:19
They're not getting tired are they? No, they're not. I'm getting tired, I've only been doing this
06:24
for a couple of minutes. Yeah, just a sign, Madison can't be doing this all night, and he's
06:29
going to be doing this over tonight, all the way until 4 30 tomorrow, when he'll get to,
06:34
Billy Wright statue. Yes, yeah, Billy Wright statue, half past four, so. Just in time to see
06:41
wolves, maybe, get a result against Liverpool. That's it, nothing's, you know, if the players
06:45
are watching, nothing's impossible, you know, hard work, you know, giving everything, letting
06:52
out, then you can do these things.
06:56
Go Manny, go! Go Manny, go! Go Manny, go!
07:01
Where shall I go? Where do you want me to go?
07:05
Go Manny, go! Go Manny, go! Go Manny, go! Go Manny, go!
07:14
Here we go, I mean last night I got, oh, here we go.
07:19
The legend, Beverly Knott.
07:24
Hey, it's Bev, listen, I know you're out there, walking around and around and around,
07:29
Molly New, and you are one of the most generous and big-hearted souls that I know, and I am
07:38
so proud of you for doing this, people adore you at the Wolves, keep going, we're right
07:45
with you, we will donate, share everything, you're just brilliant Manny, keep it up, and
07:52
lots of love.
07:54
What are your Molly New's angels like?
07:56
There you go, I mean, you know, she just finished a concert in Cardiff, she recorded that, sent
08:01
it with her niece at half past two this morning, amazing event.
08:06
Absolutely, I'm going to step off actually.
08:08
You turned up at the right time, didn't you?
08:17
I did, yeah.
08:19
One more, are we doing one more lap, okay, come on, let's go.
08:25
I want to do one more lap.
08:27
How are you guys finding this right now then?
08:29
Nothing.
08:31
80 laps.
08:33
80 laps?
08:35
Okay, I'll do it.
08:37
So, obviously there's the physical toll that this is taking, what's the sort of mental
08:45
toll right now?
08:47
I think the mental side is getting a real boost all the time, it's being fed with stuff
08:54
like this, you know, so mentally I'm quite high, I feel great.
08:58
People you don't even know who are just coming out and saying Manny, the bloke yesterday
09:02
in the wolf shirt who said, I've never met him but I absolutely love him.
09:05
There was a girl who turned up at four o'clock this morning, two cups of tea, I don't know
09:10
who she is, four o'clock this morning she's there with two hot cups of tea and it's amazing
09:15
that people are inspired to do that.
09:17
The fact you're even keeping active on social media about it as well.
09:21
Well, yeah, it gives me something to do I think.
09:25
I mean obviously it's like a non-stop walk, how many times have you had to stop for walking?
09:30
Well, I've sorted my feet out and we've stopped obviously to go to the toilet and stuff and
09:36
pretty much I've been eating on the go so yeah, it is what it is.
09:41
You're burning it off to be fair.
09:43
Well, I have now gone past 9,700 calories.
09:49
Wow, that's like the average marathon runner isn't it?
09:53
Yeah, yeah.
09:55
So yesterday we spoke about, you didn't have a specific target in mind but now you've seen
10:00
the sort of the kilometers you've done, what do you think could be achievable?
10:04
I don't know to be honest because we're coming up to like 80 kilometers, we're not even halfway,
10:10
so it could be a quarter of a million steps, something like that, I don't know.
10:15
Just try and think what 8,000 kilometers is, that's halfway around the world?
10:19
80 kilometers.
10:21
80 kilometers?
10:24
So, you know, probably double that.
10:27
But obviously we'll probably slow down a little bit with fatigue but
10:31
it's about keep going and just up one front in front of the other.
10:36
Of course, if we look behind you, you've got the wonderful view of Molyneux right now.
10:41
And again, you know, that's the inspiring bit, the fact that you've got this
10:45
magnificent stadium behind you as well.
10:47
And Wolverhampton, you know, hasn't got many attractions but this is our main one.
10:53
It's right in the center of our city, which is quite unique for a football stadium these days.
10:58
And, you know, plays a big part in people's well-being, even though the team are not
11:04
doing as great as they should be doing.
11:07
But this type of stuff, look at it, people are happy and people are uplifted
11:11
and people are contributing, donating.
11:13
That's not a bad sign either, is it? The Molyneux Hotel.
11:16
Or the City Archives, it's now known.
11:20
And as you can see, it's not a flat route.
11:24
I think I mentioned it yesterday, the idea it's undulating, that's the word I use.
11:29
To tell you the truth, if you were just walking around a flat surface all day,
11:33
it would get boring, wouldn't it?
11:35
I don't know.
11:37
I'll ask you at four o'clock tomorrow and see how you're feeling.
11:42
Oh.
11:46
Obviously, to the left we see the traffic passing by.
11:50
People who are just going about their business.
11:52
But every now and again they'll see this man with a long silver beard
11:56
and a yellow turban and an orange jacket.
12:00
Well, old gold, we'll say old gold because it's Wolverhampton.
12:04
And putting in the miles.
12:06
That's right.
12:07
Putting in the kilometers that were going to be technical.
12:09
Technical, yeah.
12:15
Archives, not archives.
12:18
Archives.
12:23
So you pronounce it however you want to pronounce it?
12:25
Yeah, you go, Chris.
12:27
Is it archives?
12:28
It is.
12:29
Well, I thought it was archives.
12:31
It's the history of our city, isn't it?
12:33
All the old records of the people who lived here,
12:36
of the people who passed away,
12:39
the people who were the leaders, all the history.
12:52
It's okay, man.
12:53
I'll get a quick picture of you next to the statue with these guys.
12:56
Come on, Johnny!
13:04
Oh, loads.
13:13
Can you see the view?
13:15
What's up, guys?
13:20
If you look there, you can see the wonderful sights
13:23
of the Billy Wright stand and Molyneux Stadium
13:26
as we go past the end of another lap.
13:29
At the end of this, we'll get a quick picture with Manny and the group,
13:32
and then I shall leave him to get on his way.
13:34
Thank you, man.
13:35
Thank you, everybody who's donated and shared.
13:37
It's been incredible.
13:38
I think a couple of thousand pounds has been added since yesterday,
13:43
which is like, you know, wow.
13:46
I wish I could thank people, you know, personally, each person.
13:49
You can do that right now.
13:50
Yeah, thank you, everybody who's donated,
13:52
everybody that's given, everybody that's shared,
13:55
everybody that's supported and turned out.
13:57
You know, big hugs to all of you.
14:03
I don't think there's much more that needs to be said there.
14:05
Manny Sinkang, this guy, I can't even begin to imagine
14:08
what this guy is going through right now, the physical toll, but...
14:11
Stop down at the bottom! Stop at the bottom!
14:14
We'll do the little bit of organised bit now,
14:16
but I hope you've enjoyed this lap around Molyneux.
14:18
Manny Sinkang, what a man.
