The Express & Star hosts the Black Country Heroes awards show, showcasing residents from across the region who have achieved extraordinary things.

00:34Appeal. Absolutely overjoyed to receive this award. But as I've always said, we're all

00:41only as good as our volunteers that we've got working with us.

00:45Hi, my name's Caden and I just want to say thank you for this award. It's been so great

00:53to meet loads of new people today. And I'm just honoured to have a chance to be here

00:58tonight.

00:59Hi, my name is Stuart Henley. I'm overwhelmed. Whoever's nominated me, I just do what I can

01:14to do my job. A lot of my work I do. It wouldn't happen if it weren't for the volunteers and

01:22the family. So, thank you.

02:00My name is John Bunting. I live in Cotswold. I volunteer at Newcastle Hospital for over

02:0915 years, doing three full days a week. Helping mainly in Appleby Ward, but I work in other

02:15parts of the hospital as well. And I loved every minute of it. I was sorry I had to give

02:19it up.

02:20Very happy to win the award. Very surprised. I thought when I was reading that out, I thought

02:24I've got no chance. Those two people said it better than me.

02:30Hi, my name is Lewis Johnson BEM and I'm so privileged to receive today's award. It means

02:35a lot.

02:39My name is Chris Jones. I'm really honoured to get the award for the Environmental Champion,

02:51which I think really is dedicated to everybody that can take part in saving our environment.

02:58Hi, my name is Alex Hamill and I'm President of the JW Hood Cup. I've raised money for

03:04the local boy for 99 years. And the award, very proud, wonderful award, quite a challenge

03:11as well. Unique award that is. You'll go into our display cabinets across the road in the

03:18steel ball stand.

03:19There are thousands of good deeds happening every day in our region. And I think it's
