00:00The Big 12 opener for Utah. The Utes first ever game as a Big

00:0712 team in Big 12 competition. The game against Baylor 2 weeks

00:12ago was a non conference bout and it starts in the home of

00:16the team that finished runner up in the Big 12 a season ago.

00:19The Oklahoma State Cowboys, a top 15 tilt in Stillwater on

00:23this Saturday afternoon. We welcome you back to college

00:26football today. Kev, I do wanna start with you. Yes. Right now,

00:29we see Utah as a point and a half favorite. Minimal road

00:32favorite albeit in its first ever Big 12 football game. This

00:36line has gone berserk all week long. It opened with Oklahoma

00:41State as a two and a half point home favorite. Early in the

00:43week, Utah became the favorite as we await the status of Cam

00:47Rising for this matchup. Will he play? Will he not? It then

00:51worked back to the pokes as a favorite. Maybe an indication

00:54that Rising would not be able to go. We got some reports late

00:58in the week that we expect Rising to play but we've done

01:02this song and dance for the entirety of 2023. So, now with

01:06the UTA Game Day Road favorite in Stillwater, do you think

01:10Cam Rising plays? I have no idea. I don't care. I do not

01:14know how they keep letting this go on. It's great that the

01:16oldest quarterback in college, well, one of them has been here

01:19for years now. Here's the thing. It's not a Cam Rising thing.

01:22It's a Utah and Whittingham thing unless Cam Rising is Kawhi

01:26Leonard and Kyle Whittingham actually has no idea what's

01:28going on with this quarterback which I would not rule out.

01:31I'll say this. If you like Utah, I wouldn't bet it until

01:35their offense hits the field that I don't know if you will

01:38know until that moment whether Cam Rising is going to play or

01:41not. If you like Oklahoma State, fire away because quite

01:46honestly, I don't know if I'm too high on the Cowboys this

01:51year. I think these coming into the season, fully healthy or

01:55about even ball clubs. I really do. Maybe you could shade me a

01:59little on the Utes if we trust their defense a little bit

02:03more. But how is Utah favorite at Oklahoma State? Gundy has

02:09been so great in this building. They just smashed Tulsa. So

02:14again, people are like, oh, the Arkansas game. Gritty, great

02:17comeback win. Razorbacks have been, I think, fine to start

02:20this season. I know they had their struggles with UAB. It

02:23was a letdown spot, whatever. I do not understand the world

02:27where a healthy Cam Rising is a field goal favorite in still

02:30water. I think it's the physicality aspect, right? You

02:33know, Utah's looked at as the more physical team potentially

02:36in terms of this matchup, the way they won the Pac-12 a

02:39couple of years ago. They did it with Cam Rising and the

02:42rushing attack and the defense typically travels well. Now, to

02:46Kevin's point, I will say the numbers do suggest that, you

02:49know, Oklahoma State deserves to be favored. Since 2021,

02:52straight up, Oklahoma State is 21-2 in still water. On the

02:56flip side, since 2018 under Kyle Winningham, Utah just a

03:00500-road team, 20-20 overall. Again, how do you think this

03:04game is going to play out? To me, I've said it from the start

03:07of the year until now. The reason why I'm not sold on

03:10Oklahoma State is twofold. I don't believe in their defense.

03:12I don't think it's as dominant as it was with Jim Knowles and

03:16I'm not sold on Alan Bowman. I think he's turnover prone in

03:18terms of big matchups. Had a great performance last week

03:21with five touchdowns and really led that effort. We haven't

03:24seen Ali Gordon take over in back-to-back weeks. He's been

03:27under his rushing total and again, whether Cam Rising plays

03:30or not, I'll still roll with Wilson because I believe that

03:34Bernard and that rushing attack can eat on the ground and

03:37Oklahoma State giving up 3-0-5 in the back end in regards to

03:40the secondary. If you can run the football, play action over

03:43the top, I think they steal it.
