00:00Congratulations on the new book, Who's That Girl?

00:03It's coming out next week.

00:04How are you feeling about it, first and foremost?

00:08Yes, I'm feeling excited.

00:10I am excited for people to read it,

00:11but I'd be lying if I didn't say I felt naked.

00:15I feel a little naked.

00:16I feel a little exposed.

00:19But honestly, as far as the actual book itself,

00:24the body of work, I am actually excited

00:26for people to read it.

00:27It is honestly, you know, it's my story.

00:30And some things I have touched on before,

00:33but I've just go that much deeper.

00:34So yeah, I think I'm ready, I'm excited.

00:38Nice, I love that.

00:39And you know, like you said,

00:40people are getting to know you on a deeper level

00:42with Who's That Girl, hence the name,

00:44which is based on your hit song.

00:46But in addition to this being the 25th anniversary

00:49of Let There Be Eve, you know, that release,

00:52why was this the right time to tell this story, your story?

00:55Yeah, I just felt like I was ready to go that much,

01:01that bit deeper, I guess.

01:04You know, when I was on the talk,

01:06that was my first kind of dip into vulnerability.

01:11And I don't know, I think, you know,

01:14even when I was on the talk, I was asked before,

01:16like, oh, would you wanna write a book?

01:17And I wasn't ready.

01:18And then, I don't know, it just felt right.

01:22I think also having my kid has a lot to do with it.

01:26I just feel like, you know,

01:27he's made me that much more whole of a person.

01:31And some of the things that, I mean,

01:33a lot of the things that I talk about in the book

01:35are kind of things I wanna shed

01:37and let go of to be ready for that next chapter

01:39in my life with my kid.

01:41And so yeah, it just felt time, yeah.
