00:00The two bronze medals were won by the National Team members of Karate Philippines,

00:05Sakura Alforte and Laurence Nopre,

00:07in the 20th Asian Senior Karate Championships

00:10held on September 20-22 in Hangzhou, China.

00:14They defeated Alforte's Chinese opponent,

00:18Yi Wei Tao, in the bronze medal match of the Women's Individual Kata event.

00:23While Nopre won the bronze medal event of the Men's Individual Kata

00:29against Madik Atishov of Kazakhstan.

00:32According to the social media posts of the Karate Philippines Sports Federation,

00:36Alforte and Nopre achieved great success

00:40together with other members of the National Team

00:43who entered the Asian Championships as proof of their great dedication.

00:48Despite this, the Philippines ranks 15th in the overall rankings in the competition.
