00:06Henry Okoje, who is the husband of the popular Nollywood actress, Nancy Johnson has alleged

00:11that some leaders of People's Democratic Party, PDP in the state sent thugs to assassinate

00:16him ahead this Saturday Edo governorship election.

00:20Reports on Friday spread across the internet that a group of people who disguised as policemen

00:26invaded the residence of the lawmaker at his hometown with the intention to assassinate

00:30but they were prevented by security operatives attached to the lawmaker.

00:36According to a statement by the media office of the lawmaker, some of the attackers were

00:40arrested and the harm made useful confessional statements that they were sent by PDP leaders

00:46in Essang land to assassinate the Nollywood actress's husband.

00:50Okoje's media head, Michael Ihaza, stated in a news statement on Friday that Okoje,

00:57the husband of the Nollywood movie star, Nancy Johnson, was attacked at his residence by

01:03gunmen in a Lexus GX470 carrying a reverse state vehicle registration number, PHC-253FF.

01:14The statement indicated that the planned assassination was unsuccessful owing to the intervention

01:19of security personnel attached to the lawmaker.

01:23The armed thugs who disguised as police officers along with two others, invaded the residence

01:29of Hon.

01:30Okoje, claimed to be on appointment and proceeded to the sitting room.

01:35Following the intervention of the security personnel attached to the lawmaker, two of

01:40the armed thugs fled leaving behind the driver and another who are currently being interrogated

01:45by officers from the Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force, Uromi.

01:50The suspects have so far made a confessional statement stating that they were sent on the

01:55mission by People's Democratic Party, PDP, leaders in Essang North East Local Government

02:01Area.

02:02The statement reads, a North-East Police Command is yet to react to the allegation of the attempted

02:08assassination on the life of the lawmaker.
